I find it interesting that when one uses the words "masturbating" and "psychedelic" in one's post, such a person is automatically pigeonholed as either an idiot, someone "on drugs", or (in correlation to the actually post) a liar. Albeit the post itself is probably hard to be believed (likely due to the aforementioned words), but it is assured that it happened. It occurred on an extremely old computer not in the least tailored for gaming, and a few steps in the installing of BG and ToSC were skipped or doubled back (as I mentioned), but isn't it a little unwise to assume? Those incredulous who posted responses did so in good humor, although I wondered what indeed kick-started such presumptuous behaviour. Surely such an unheard-of event in such a wildly popular role playing game as Baldur's Gate is likened to other unproven "secrets", like the talking squirrel who supposedly gives an Ioun Stone of Luck.
Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox now. I thought someone would be able to help me understand what turned on such a bizarre (and manifestly unbelievable) event, but I was wrong. |

how sprites can ever act as masturbating is beyond me.. There're no frames to suggest them doing so.
Your last post just seem like something from the crackpot without any sense, which would be why the message (whatever it might be) be considered as slightly crazy. Not because of the words used, but as to how they're used. |

So you are saying that your not raving mad! Well then, I have experienced a handfull of odd occurrences while playing the first released version of Baldur's Gate and or Tales of the Sword
Coast. None of which are nearly as strange as the before mentioned. Maybe if your computer was really slow and the ram was close to or under min. playing specs you triggerd a hidden movie or video clip. I have heard that some mirror the program files in a parallel format. Though I have never experienced such myself. The only strange things I have experienced within memory are(Silke taking the place of Safana as NPC in the flesh golem cave quest, House in north B.G. with bad highlight boxes on chest of drawers and house across from Oberon estate missing a creature file that causes game to crash. Also when I went directly from CandleKeep to Nashkell I would encounter Tazok(only at night)and he was worth double the XP. I've tryed this in newer versions and it has worked to no avail. Well, that was as long winded as Elminster goodluck and farewell. [ October 04, 2003, 10:04: Message edited by: Snitza ] |

I guess it didn't occur to you that if one topic of yours gets closed, opening another on the same subject is not really a good idea. Especially since this is not a forum for complaints. Consult the forum rules about what your options are if a thread of yours gets sanctioned by a mod/admin.
