This is a completely different computer now, and Baldur's Gate won't run! I'll click play, and it says "A required .DLL file, DPLAYX.DLL was not found." Any help is welcome.
I'm starting to think I pissed off Bill Gates or something! Edit: I don't know if this matters, but it's on a laptop, and the game was working fine yesterday. [ October 27, 2003, 22:42: Message edited by: reepnorp ] |

I don't know why it would stop working from yesterday, but I would guess it is a problem with the DirectPlay component of DirectX based on the file name. Which version of DirectX are you using? Runing the DirectX diagnostic program may help pinpoint a problem, if it is DirectX-related.

The file may have been deleted. Try searching the BG CD for it. If you can find it, then just copy it over to your BG1 folder. What CamDawg said could, and probably is, the problem.

I re-installed Direct X from the BG CD, and it's working fine now. Thanks.
