Elusive Lever in the Crypts

Im just starting icewind dale. i just finished cleaning out the whole vale of undead. i trashed every single crypt i could find, but when i went back to the druid in the forest town, it didnt give me an option to say that i did the job. theres that huge room in the main crypt that has 2 sets of gears in it, and when i clicked on it it says "perhaps theres a lever". you know when it says perhaps it always meens there is. but i dont know where it is, and im kind of lost here. some help please?

there is a lever on the pillar closest to the entrance (1 of the 3 pillars in the triangular raised floor with the skeleton mage on it).
