I just love that spell animation Malavons Rage is also good.

When you are soloing, some spells become surprisingly useful. Like burning hands. I killed most of cold wights in 3rd level of Dragon's Eye with that spell. Cone of cold and Sunfire are also nice.

Infravision beats all. Seriously, this have been done many times over, but if I have to choose one, it will have to be skull trap. On high level it is much stronger than fireball.
