Well, the title pretty much speeks for itself...
I think it could be interesting to see what sorts of races people like the most. And i mean races from books, movies, games, whatever as long as it's fantasy race... ok if your favorite is a race from a sci-fi book, or some such, it's ok too My favorite race are the Drow... I love them, even if they are very cruel and i'd just be a "lowly male" if i was one of them, but they are so cool They are simply more interesting than the other races i think. And Drizzt is one of them and that's a BIG plus!!! heh [ June 02, 2003, 22:24: Message edited by: Ameorn ] |

Elves are by far my favorite. I just like Elves, and no specific subrace over another. I like them for their grace and sophistication, as much for their looks. Their look just says "fantasy" to me, whereas other races (halfling, dwarf, gnome) just seem to say "midget."
All the Elven subraces are very interesting to me and make interesting choices for different character types. I'm not as drow-crazy as a lot of people, but I do like them too. |

Hmmm...that's a hard one since there are so many, but I'll list my top 3:
I like the Avariel Elves because they have the awsome features of elves, plus wings! Not to mention my fav. NPC is of that race. I don't know much about their cities, but what Aerie says about them, they sound like a beautiful place to live. I like the Drow beacuse their culture is the exact oppsite of what ours is, their arcitecture, the way they wage war, and the way they live. I can't stand Lolth though...give me Lothlonglathe', J’imasro, or even Eilistraee. I like the Wyrms (dragons) becuae they are prety much the most powerfull and richest race of Farun. I love their ability to pollymorph into a human form...man by day, great dragon by night.

I don't quite know why, but I like things such as demons and devils, Baatezu and Tanar'ri, or something, I think. But half orcs are always fun, and gnomes.

My favorite are the "barbaric" races, e.g. Orcs, Gnolls, Ogres. I always think of Madulf when they are mentioned. The idea of a reformed monster that normally serves as "XP in a flesh-bag" is nice.
I really, really, really dislike how elves are portrayed. In my opinion, any race that is going to live up to a millenia is going to be very different from humans. I don't think that many people are able to portray this gigantic age difference correctly, but no one really knows what it's like to live for centuries, anyways. (I was going to be in a campaign where I was a jaded, world-weary Elven Druid, but it never got off the ground. Rargh!

Definately elves. It ain't fantasy if there's no elves. I like their carefree, magical nature. I don't like any particular subrace over another, just elves in general.

Like Kitrax said winged elves are cool. But I would like the Avariel far more if they had " angle-wings " and not they're " fairy-wings".

Elves, with Tolkien personality and depth and FR subclasses. I especially like moon elves, though sea elves look rather cool.

Elves, no doubt of that... especially the Tolkien elves and the Drow elves.
What can I say? I like diversity. And reading Silmarillion again and again...

From mythical races I find elves and the dragons the most interesting; like most of us do. All sub-races included, 'course.
