Out of curiosity, something that was raised in the Court and dating topic:
How much do you pay for TV? How much does it cost you guys and girls in different countries? (Please no "nothing coz my parents pay" answers). UK - TV licence is obligatory ~ £110 (€150) annually or £9 per month. On top of that I have satelite for the sport and movies in the main. £38 (€55) I think per month. Total cost about £565 per year. Yet I watch relatively little TV. Ouch. [ April 25, 2003, 14:45: Message edited by: Viking ] |

We pay $83 per month for "expanded basic" cable TV AND internet access. Our plan does not include premium channels like HBO.

I have a pretty good t.v. set-up. I pay $62.62 Canadian ($43 US / 39 Euros / 27 UK pounds)per month for satellite service which is basically the equivalent of having the extended cable service of all 10 Canadian provinces which includes the movie channels and the older specialty channels but not the new ones that were introduced last year.
Furthermore, I have three dishes - one at my house, one at my parents house, and one at the family cottage where cable is not available which is why I got satellite service to begin with. We only have two receivers so we can only use the satellite service at any two locations at one time but my parents did not cancel their cable when they began leaching off of my satellite service so we tend to keep the one receiver at my house and move the other back and forth from the cottage to my parents house. Also, it is technically not illegal to do this.

25 CH-Francs the month (cable-TV). That's approx. 16 Euro.
I would never take pay-TV. It's a misguided concept invented by the devil and what the heck is a video-store for? [ April 25, 2003, 17:36: Message edited by: Yago ] |

I have to pay around 4 SEK a day for the Swedish television, that is around 0.3€ a day. It is pretty annoying and I managed to evade it for quie some time but they tracked me down and made me pay.

About $50 for DirecTV with local channels and the 'extra' channels (Sci-Fi, etc...). We went with that because cable became $80 for bottom line. Satelite(sp?) gave us more channels for $30 bucks less a month.
