Maybe someone can help me understand this ....
I have this game loaded on my work computer. Every now and then the game will come up, with the trumpet fanfare turning heads around the office. Now, my games and I usually have a quiet understanding. I sneak away to play them every now and then, and they don't make a fuss. For some reason TOB is the first game that demands this sort of attention! Should I send the game flowers, or is a hand written poem in order? Seriously ... is there a way to stop this? |

Hmmm what an amusing situation. I take it you've tried turning the volume down. And it still does the fanfare?

afaik there is no alternative than giving BG-2 the attention it needs - afaik you can't switch it off. So, Big B's idea to simply turn down the volume, sounds pretty convincing to me

Copy the cd to HD, remove the sound file, burn it to a new cd and your problem is gone.
But seriously, what's there to be ashamed of. You could be doig alot worse, like neeing caught looking at animal porn sites or something. |

I heard there was a "mute" button on the sound controls...

I don't think the game's sound options affect the start-up 'scream'. Have you tried head-phones? (course, then you can't hear the boss coming around the corner...)

I finally figured out how to fix this ... I will skip work and play TOB until I finish it. This will solve two things;
1) I won't be at work so the darn game will be unable to embarass me in front of my co-workers; 2) I will finally have this game done and I can move on with my life .... unless I descide to try the game as an archer, which means that I'll have to go through all this again ....

And it took me back to something that I'd lost somewhere, somehow along the way

I feel your pain. It's never ending in the constant struggle of real life vs the Baldur's Gate series.

You could just hmm... ahh! 'Disconnect yourself from life' for a week. Did that when I was in school. I just stared at the professor, not taking notes, and thinking whether to go to either Umar or Windspear hills.
