Jan won't talk after being imprisoned

He got imprisoned in the fight with kgnax.. i freedomed him, but when I try talking, the game says that he has nothing to say to me... I have tactics installed...
any ideas? last save b4 that is LONG ago

Does Tactics allow you to speak to the other members of your party then? I haven't got it, I'm afraid.

I had a similar problem involving Nalia and the Improved Abazigal battle. She got imprisoned, then after I released her, she didn't have any more banters even though she'd only had one with Imoen, and was supposed to have quite a few more. I just kept playing and thought, "oh well, there's always next time". So sorry, I don't know how to fix this.

I have had similiar problems with Mazzy and Minsc, cast the Freedom spell, and when you go to talk to them to get them to rejoin your party, they have nothing to say to you.

Charming them will get them to follow you like a zombie, but then they turn hostile after a short while, and you end up having to kill them. I do not have tatics installed but tons of other mods. This bug may not lie there.

i dont think the bioware NPC's ever had anything to say to me when i use the talk function, at least not in unmodded BG

I guess Lady Constance means that poor Minsc and mazzy was unable to re-join the party after being imprisoned and freedomed, that they were unable to enter the dialogue to re-join. I guess it is indeed a bug. Patch should fix it. If nothing, CTRL+Q as a last resort. BUt I guess it will kill all future banters and interactions!

And yes NPCs IN YOUR PARTY can not be talked with unless you have some banter or romance mods.

I'll hazard a guess that it's caused by their "kicked out" flag not being properly set when they're imprisoned/freed. You can't talk to them because the game still thinks they're in your party. Try ctrl+Qing them back into your group, then kick them out; if they give you the "are you sure you want me to go" dialog they should be fine.
