Joyous news concerning golems in De'Arnise Keep

There may be spoilers in this, so watch out.

I found out something nifty. You can use the war hammer +1/+4 vs. giants and pound on that iron golem. It doesn't do tons of damage - 2 points per hit - but it adds another weapon to the roster.

Do you have any mods, kuemper? I know for a fact that there is a mod (from G3 iirc) that changes all weapons with multiple enhancements towards the higher enchantment. So with that mod it will always hit as a +4, regardless of the target.

That's not a mod, it's just how most of the multiple enchantment weapons work in BG2.

Though they may have made a mod to fix the ones that don't.

The +1/+4 vs Giantkin Hammer strikes as +4 in the unmodded game. Yes, that does mean it works against Kangaxx.

Ironically, the item contains a bug and doesn't actually have a to-hit bonus of +4 against giants.

And yeah, G3 Tweaks includes a component to make all +x/+y weapons strike at +y. There are only a handful that don't in the unmodded game, so it's actually a fairly small tweak.

I have no mods that enhance the weapons. No G3 Tweaks or I can't remember the name of it but it melds rings and cloaks together mod.

It's the war hammer +1/+4 vs. giant humanoids you find in the 'closets' in the golem room on the second floor. I didn't think it would work, but I tried it because I didn't have a +3 weapon.

One of the reasons I just *love* the Balburdash Fixpack is that it changes the flavor text for the weapons that hit at a higher level than their thaco bonus would indicate to explain that they do.
