I was wondering if it is posible to get some of the abilities from Icewind Dale 1 such as thief evasion
, palidan smiting, etc into BG2? It probably isn't but I am just wondering if anybody has thought of it before? |

I have. I'm still checking to see if evasion is possible but adding some sort of smite evil ability would be a cake walk. I'm also checking into adding the "sneak attack" option from IWD1 as well as IWD1 bard songs. Don't get your hopes up, though. I don't even know if most of this is possible yet.

Cool also this would be an interesting option, the spell progressions for palidans and rangers. With that option spellcasting for those classes would not be a joke anymore like it is now (at least in my oppinion) Furthermore it gives a reason for the gigantic amount of XP requiered to gain levels in Ranger/Palidan as they do not gain much after level 20 or so.

You could just look into the 2da file for the relevant class and then locate the spell file responsible for that particular power (powers are handled as "spells" cast on the character upon gaining a certain level), then copy the spell files to BG2' Override, edit the BG2 2da files for the relevant class and you're set.
