For anyone that doesnt recognize the name this is the weapon used by Rand in the Wheelof Time series by robert Jordan. I'm onlya a bit into book four cause I don't read it very much, so I might not know a lot about this weapon other then it would probably be impossible to duplicate this things full power in the game because it's so bloody overpowered.

I think it should be a Bastard sword, since there arent many of them in the game that are any good, but I'm not sure what would be the most accurate proficency, long sword maybe?

But anyway I think it would have these stats as a bastard sword.

2d4+5 (hits as +5)

Special abilities:

+1 fire and lightning damage on hit.
Increase STR DEX and CON by 3
Level drain protection
Globe of invulnerability
+3 extra spells for each level from 1 to 3
+2 for 4-5
+1 to level 6
+2 ac bonus
Sunray once a day.

Remember this is only meant to replicate a small amount of the power that ths weapon would unmistakably have if it was in BG2, but still do you think it may be a bit overpowered? maybe I should get rid of the globe of invulnerablity option, but the Elemental damage would definately be important to have imo since it's the sword of the Dragon, and fire and lightning is the strongest part of the Saidin side of the one power.

Slightly overpowered!?

I didn't read the series, but if this weapon is meant for normal use, it's just too strong.

D'oh. Callandor's not magical unto itself, it only enhances the abilities of the Channeler.

Callandor stats combatwise: Masterwork bastard sword, with a doubled critical threat-range and is about half as heavy and twice as hard as a normal bastard sword.

Bastard Sword: 2d4
+1 bonus to hit (unmagical)
+1 bonus to critical threat range
A sweet weapon, for a level 1-3 character.

Having it grant its user, elemental damage, stat and AC bonuses, and protective spell-like effects is just ridiculous.

Sunray once a day? Wherever did that come from? Maybe Rand casts a Sunray-like effect that is enhanced by Callandor, which makes more sense.

Any non-saidin channeler picking it up will find that they have a mighty fine sword in their hands but nothing more.

And contrary to popular belief, once the Dragon removes Callandor, any saidin wielder can use it.

In the hands of a (male) Channeler: Probably increase the saving throws of their spells, effects, weavings, whatever, etc so that they are more potent. Or add a substantial damage bonus in the case of effects like Fireball or Lightning Bolt. Or, increase the amount of Channeling/Spells cast they can do in one day.

Mini-spoiler: Callandor's not all it's cracked up to be, as Rand will find out soon enough. I.e: it's not that powerful after all. In fact, it kinda sucks.

It doesnt suck Shura, it is actually more powerful than it is supposed to be. Which in some ways can be a drawback. I am also pretty sure that Callandor, as most fancy swords in the wot world is a katana like sword.

Callandor isnt really a sword per se, it could probably be used like one but to any special effect. If we are talking D&D terms Callandor would triple all spells memorized or something of the like. It is the second most powerful artifact in the WoT world and enables the wielder to pretty much do almost anything, emphasis on almost there.

Would it make more sense to have Callandor as a special type of sword for Magic users. There's a word I'm looking for but it's escaping me. Since in the books the sword was only of real use to people with the Power, shouldn't it work that way here?
