Odd bug with entering/exiting places

I've been having a bug with the game recently -- sometimes, when I enter/exit an area that requires Auto-Save to occur, the game freezes up on me. I've downloaded the ToB patch, and this problem still occurs -- is there any way to correct this problem?

Given that you are posting in the SOA only forum, I assume that your game does not actually have TOB, in which case applying the TOB patch may, in fact, cause strange things to happen.

Well, no -- I have TOB installed, but I'm playing SoA (a new game and all). Should I therefore install the SoA patch as well?

No. It will mess up your game even more.
