I'm a little confused. I am travelling with Viconia and Jaheira and had planned on letting Jaheira down pretty soon as I had yet to try Vic's romance.
I tried some mods for this game. Specifically, Underrepresented Items, Unfinished Business, Improved Cromwell/Cespenar and Kelsey SOA and TOB. It appears that the dialog with Vic and Jaheira where they duke it out and I have to choose one was ignored. I did not intend for that to happen and didn't realize that any mod I had installed would cause this to occur. Does anyone know why this might have happened? Thanks. |

Most likely due to unfinished buisness. iirc that mod allows for multiple romances. If that is the case then you will never have to choose between them. The standard requiements, race wise, still apply of course. ie no elves can romance Vic etc.

Thanks for the input Takara. I looked at pocket plane and didn't see any reference to multiple romances in UB. Strange.

@The Shaman, I think that if there is a non-mod NPC you can romance as those races it is Aerie. All the others you cant. I know you can romance her as a Gnome, so a dwarf isnt too unlikely. After that, you will have to take a mod-NPC if you want a romance for either race.
@Good Thoughts, I'm not completely sure if UB has multi-romances as part of it, but I'm pretty sure that you have that option enabled as part of your game. |

Here's a quote I took directly from the SP Romance Guide:

Unfinished Business does not include any multi-romance tweaks.

Yes, it's not UB.
I'd suggest it must be your race, wrong dialogue choices, or a bug with the main game.

It's also possible that the interrupting NPC was not considered valid for dialogue at the time--might have been behind a wall or too far away or something like that.
But yes, not in UB in any way shape or form. At PPG, we bury multiromance, not praise it.

Ok, my mistake. I always hated the multi-romance thing. Had it once, and it lead to me having to ditch one of my NPCs.

To be honest, I consider all those multiple and "happy" romance tweaks lame. I don't care all that much, because it's up the player what mods he will install and run with his game, but I don't like the atmosphere surrounding the development of romance mods in modding communities. The pressure of gay and bisexual lobbies, or sometimes just bored people with an overwhelming desire to be trendy, to remove scripted gender checks or even use gender-neutral language if not write specifically homosexual lines, which also leads to same gender NPCs hitting on your player character. Or the incessant hysterical queries of militant liberals who have nothing better to do in a gaming forum than to make sure the mod maker doesn't neglect his duty to include an abortion line as a dialogue option available in case of conception. All that hassle deprives romance of anything magical and provides you with immersive politically correct experience instead. No, thank you very much.
This is the reason why I, in fact, avoid any mods that have anything to do with romance, except for Flirtpacks or the old and forgotten Nalia mod (which I don't really like for different reasons). But to answer the question, none of the mods you have installed seems to be the cause of the problem. There is a chance your dialogue needs more time to appear or maybe you have chosen a dialogue option which ends the romance. But the latter is hard to miss, so you would know. Try checking ViconiaRomance and ViconiaMatch variables in the Clua console or in Shadow Keeper. You will find a Clua guide and a Shadow Keeper download somewhere in the cheats subsection of the Baldur's Gate 2 section of SP (click here). |

Thanks for the further info fellas. Viconia's romance has continued- it is just as if those lines got skipped. Jaheira has continued as well. The reason I picked up on it at all was because Viconia mentioned something in one of her dialogues that referenced something we had not talked about yet. So I went and looked it up in the SOA Romancing guide and just read what had been skipped. It included the part where Jaheira interjected for the last time.
I did a complete uninstall before I started this game w/ mods because I had had technical troubles earlier. I guesss it is possible though that something could have remained even after the uninstall. I tried the multi-romance once before by editing some file I can't remember what. I did not care for it though at the time. I've been through BG2 about 3 times now. Later folks. |

Chloe's intentionally written as a lesbian, as was the author's design from the very start. She won't romance males at all.
