The header says it all.
It seems to me that turn based combat is more appropriate for 3e, so I was wondering what it would be like with the game: turn based or à la BG, i.e., real time? |

well almost
, it will be turn based .... theoretically ... even in BG there were mumbers of attack per round. It's just that the gamer will not notice , however, you can pause whenever you want.IIRC a round in an IE game equals 6 sec game time (unlike in PnP where it would be 60 sec). stormhand, IWD2 is built on the same engine as BG so it will work the exact same way. It's real time until you hit the pause key or set auto pause to stop the action at the end of each round. In this way I can look at the situation and choose options to fit the changing events. So you can get the best of both worlds. Real time and turn based.
