I've made the mistake of playing baldur's gate 2 before 1 and now must suffer through hours of frustration as my party gets womped by ogres, hobgoblins, bandits, skeletons, and especially KOBOLDS(damn you kobolds in the firewine ruins!!)
How do i kill that arrogant prick Drizzt! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, am i being too ambitious as all my party memembers are level 5 cept khalid whoses level 6. Whats Drizzt's ac and hitpoints anyways?(how i long for my baldurs gate 2 party to humble this arrogant prick and make the kobold species extinct!) |

I think, from what I've heard, that Drizzt is level 16, ac -8, 90% Magic Resistant. Oh, and don't forget, he's the ONLY 2-fisted fighter in BG1.
Oops, forgot: 96 hit points ![]() Read thru old posts and you'll find many ideas for playing "smear the queer" with Drizzt! [This message has been edited by Ace of Spades (edited May 22, 2001).] |

He is an arrogant prick isn't he.
After you've helped him kill off the Gnolls, move your party to the opposite side of the large pond. Have your thief stay with Drizzt and converse with him (don't know if this is really necessary, but I didn't want to take the chance that he might just wander off once your party moves away from him). Once your party is set up with bows and slings on the other side of the pond (use your magic arrows if you've got em), have your thief drink down a Oil of Speed. Then have your thief attempt to pickpocket him (I purposely leave my thief's pickpocket skills at a low level for the specific purpose of starting fights...the other party gets mad and starts the fight instead of you, so you don't lose rep points for deliberately killing someone, except townspeople). Your attempt most likely will fail. If it doesn't, keep at it, because like Dudette said, you can't get the armor without killing him. I think that you can only obtain the +3 Frostbrand by pickpocketing. The +5 Defender is a kill or be killed proposition as well. Drizzt will get angry so have your thief run like a bat out of hell back to the edge of the pond...don't cross around to the other side to join up with your party. I don't know if he'd actually follow you around, but I didn't take the chance. Drizzt is pretty fast so he'll keep close to you. Your thief will take some damage, so he needs to be "healthy" when this all goes down. Once you've reached the edge of the pond, have your thief drink an Invisibility potion. Move to the side and just stand there. Do not take any action because you'll become visible again, so turn the AI "OFF". Your party can then turn him into a pin cushion. It'll take a bit of time, because he's tough to hit and he does have many, many hit points. For some odd reason, Drizzt just stands around sucking up damage instead of coming around the pond to play lawn mower with your pary members. The pond acts like a barrier to him...gotta be a design flaw or something. Once he's dead, strip him and leave him for the crows. This worked for me at least. If you have a paladin and/or a ranger, they might have some problems killing Drizzt even if he starts the fight...fall from grace and all that other nonsense especially for paladins. I would definitely save the game before you begin this little murderous endeavor. I summoned alot of monsters while he was attacking the gnolls, then i attacked, but he ignored the summoned monsters and went for my party. I had hasted my party, and drizzt ran after them in rings because of the summoned monsters in the middle. about half of the monsters was hobgoblins that kept firing at him. eventually he died

Drizzt is a nice hero. I don't think I would ever kill him even if I played evil.

The problem is, many people here are powergamers who do everything to get the good weapons, even if they have to kill good people to get them. That kinda people should always play evil characters for it's a ROLL-PLAYING-GAME so play your roll and don't fell out of it just coz of some good items.

Hmm, when I think of that, I'm not surprised with tests you perform at the finale in BG2.
However, I think there should have been traits included like "child killer", "hero of the coast", "goblin friend" or so not so much related to alignment. In the case of so called powergaming after items there should be a trait "greedy bastard". And game characters would react on this one pretty bad, i.e. attack him on sight no matter of alignment or sell him stuff at highest prices with disabled ability to steal from stores. Well and THAT'S JUST what I mean and what the makers of BG2 explain in the game perfectly. When you got the same mentality as with Drizzt, and you ARE a powergamer, you'll take the tests that increases strength, give blackrazor etc. And when you then use the stones, and you have to, your alignment changes to EVIL. For when you play only for your own items and stats and choose evil paths to reach that goals, you ARE evil. You fell out of your role. Maybe that aligment should also happen when killing Drizzt.

Yeah right and guess why you hate him? You can't have it that he has a better equipment then you do huh... about powergamers......
Think about this: When Drizzt wasn't that powerful and didn't had that awesome stuff in BG1, nobody would hate him! [This message has been edited by Headbanger (edited May 30, 2001).] |

Then you got to explain why you hate him... You can hate Sarevok for he killed Gorion and tried to kill you too. But Drizzt didn't do anything wrong. And "because he's drow" isn't a good reason, I hope you don;t hate people coz of the clour of the skin.

GOD DA***! I never said I hated because of his drow skin, personally I would love to look like a drow with black skin and white hair!
I dont like him because he is a good drow, and because he is such a great hero. He is like a paradox, and I wouldn't wait a second to hunt him down just to get the respect of other drow. I find him to strong, to great, to annoying, and he always pops up in my way, and his way of speaking of himself. I tihnk he says something like "You're one of the few who didn't get something(cant remember) of the meeting with the great/famous Drizzt Do'Urd-(cant remember). He's arrogant, and that's one kind of people I just cant take. [This message has been edited by Lokken (edited May 30, 2001).] |

I never said that YOU hated him coz of his skin, some others have said that as answer. When you hate cause you're evil and he's one of the few good drow, you're one of the few players that DO have a good excuse to kill Drizzt. For it's not about killing Drizzt yes or no, it's about playing your role, and that's what you certainly do.
Tyresian ----> Bye the way, you say that maybe you're too ambitious being at level 5/6 but when you reach a higher level, Drizzt also becomes stronger. [This message has been edited by Headbanger (edited May 30, 2001).] |

And the Saga of Drizzt, "Wanted-Dead or Alive" continues onward...
I felt that his armor and swords were wasted on him, so I took em and put em to good use...on me. At least that's what a worthy spawn of Bhaal would say. I'm just living up to my sire's expectations of me. I am after all, competing against my no good brother Sarevok, and he's got a head start.
