Unseeing Eye Religion Quest (spoiler for game)

I really need some help with this quest, it's about the unseeing eye religion in the sewers. I am at that ancient temple with all the diseased people outside. Inside the temple is that monster that won't die no matter how much damage you do to it. How do I kill it for the second half of the rod? Thanks

I'll be doing that quest this evening and if I get thru will let you know. Know the name of the monster inside the temple because some critters require a +2 weapon to be hit and are imune to all magic (like golems for example).

i need help with the first part of the rod because i failed to answer the questions and the greater mummy attacked me and cannot get any futher after killing it

To get the rod from that monster, I think you have to heal it, not kill it.
