I went with the sailor after the Asylum and ended up under the sea. Is this an either/or situation? Underdark or Undersea? Or does selecting one over the other simply choose the order you play them in? Also, I still don't know what to do with Mithril Discs. Drow currency, perhaps?

**SPOILER**
I've done I bit of both ways. I played through the portal, which takes you to the Underdark, obviously. I got caught in the Illithid's building, managed to formulate escape, but my damned familiar got caught with no way out. So I went back to the choice, went with Saemon, and am now in Undersea, though I think the only way out is through the Underdark so I guess I'll end up there anyway. In short, the choice to go with Saemon just delays going to the Underdark(speculation from Undersea dialogue) |

There was a shoe maker behing the Umber Hulk door that made me boots of the north and boots of speed. You need the coins to make them. Also, take the boat. You get to go to the Sahuagin City and then go to the Underdark, so it's a bonus. Going by sea is also the only way to get the Vorpal Sword and Wave Halberd, since pieces of it are gained through that path.

You use the mithril disks in the maze after getting out of the asylum to put them in a machine to get a pair of kick-ass boots.

I've managed to get 21 Mithril discs so far, but I don't want to go any further until I know that's as many as I CAN get. I put 20 in the "boot" machine and a tidy piece of armor popped out...can anyone tell me how many there are?

I'm not absolutely positive but I think there are 26 Discs. Only because that's the total that I've found. It allows me to get an extra pair of Boots of Speed and Boots of Stealth. I end up with one disc left for sentimental value.
Perhaps someone has found more? |
