I'm trying to enable cheats in my IWD2 game, in order to move through the annoying "tic tac toe" board faster. I've searched everywhere, but I can't seem to find how to actually enable these cheats. Can anyone offer some advice? I've tried putting in DebugMode=1, under Program Options, and I changed Cheats=0 to Cheats=1, thinking that would do it. But whatever I try, the control-tab function won't open the cheats tray. What am I doing wrong?

To enable cheat console you got to check that option in the configuration programm(under the "game" tab)
And to enable those Ctrl+(X) codes you must first open up the cheat console by pressing Ctrl+Tab in the game, and enter the following line: ctrlaltdelete:enablecheatkeys() Then you can use for example Ctrl+J to move the selected character to the mouse point...etc, there's many codes. I hope it would help you. |

I assume you're talking about the battle squares.
You only have to win one battle, the rest is optional. So you can just leave it if you like. To win faster you just need a better combatant. You can return to the board anytime until you fly away with Oswald, you can continue the story and return when you are more experienced and better equipped (just don't forget it). All levels are beatable for an experienced party member without saving between the single battles btw. "Ease-of-Use" has a "Skip Battle Square" component if you want to cheat |

Thanks. I checked the cheats option, and it works fine now. I had assumed DebugMode=1 was part of the process along with checking the cheats, which I am assuming to be what caused the problem.
@kmonster You're right, but I'm a pack rat, and I can never pass up a good side-quest that has items to offer, even if it is incredibly tedious...I've never used mods, either, but I'm planning on playing through the trilogy on TuTu with Ease of Use installed to prevent pack-rat-induced headaches. Thanks for the help-- I appreciate it. |

@Acrux: Thanks, but this will probably be my only play-through in IWD2. I really only consider it a filler for the BG series, anyways, but thanks for your help. |

Actually, that's not what it says: "Enable the cheat console using the Icewind Dale II configuration program". That's a bit more specific, since it's just a tick in the IWD2 config program and shouldn't be that hard to find. And if you'd written that the instructions on SP weren't clear enough, I'd have updated them. Which is what I've done now.
