Problem with lever in chapter 5

I know people have answered this, but I have talked to the prisoners, and found the lab, but the lever won't bdge. It still is looking for someone to fix it. Please help!

Also, is there an item list for the cheats?

I don't know about item lists, but other users have already answered my same question asked just this morning on this very forum. I'm at that same point.
Once you've spoken with the prisoners, One will charge you to find his partner, who is on the easternmost side of level 2. Go there with the sword you may have picked up on level 3 (if not, go get it

), then the spirit will show you where the modified root is. When you have it, talk to prisoner again, then go to alchemical lab. Modified root on top table, then talk to alchemist or use your own man to yank fixed lever if your alchemy is > 15. Check other users replies to my post for other tips.
