What i have heard about the id2 story, sounds very much like the icewinddale trilogy by ra salvatore, will the game have conections with the books?

There's a *wHoLe* bunch of snow.
Other than that, it doesn't tie into the Salvatore books. Gives the designers a little extra breathing room. |

There will likely be fans that nitpick out of the books, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was some connection between the two.
