Vampire Template

Hello,

Does anybody know if you can actually play BGII with the vampire template? My character gets killed by sunlight the moment he steps out of Inrenecus's Dungeon. Also, there are certain NPC's that you pick up in your party that end up moving you to thier subplots, many of which take place during the day. With a vampire as the main character, the game immediately prompts for a reload once he has been burned to ashes. Is there anyway around this? Any advice would be appreciated.

try going out during nighttime, and there's no way you would be able to get the vampire template that quickly by normal means

Indeed, it should all still be a bit realistic. Vampires can't survive daylight, so when going outside, you really need to go when it is dark. Sleep at night or be inside buildings or places under the ground. Left down in the screen is a clock, there you can see what time it is. Go outside between 18 and 6 o' clock.

I agree that it should be realistic, otherwise it would not be much fun. My question was really one of practicality. Is it possible to complete the game as a vampire, or are you destined to burn everytime you get warped on an NPC subplot to a place around twelve noon? I don't think you can play the entire game being out only at night. What do you think?

I am attempting that. I admit i cheat by using the universal healing cntrl r, but come on, why would they not be able to find a cellar to hide out in! The game needs to be bent a little to go with a particular style.
Other than some healing when i get stuck, i whatch the clock. I'll let you know, underdark is going to be very easy!

Yeah there is night in Suldanessalar. It is cool to play through it at night, it gives it a great feel.
About being warped to an area with daylight, what is so hard about swithcing back to normal form before hand, or am I mis-understanding these templates?

Thanks for the tip on the contrl-r thing. I will give that a shot. My concern is being able to do the jaheria subplot and being able to be there when keldorns wife..., you know, it's important for a friend to have a shoulder to lean on in these situations.
