I'm starting to wonder if i'm spending too much time completing BGII. I'm on 183 days and counting and think i'm being pretty thorough yet there are things that i keep forgetting to do. I rather enjoyed slaughtering anomen when he failed his little paladin test the other day. He became accusatory and i took it personally so I left his carcass to be picked clean by the carrion. It's not like I forced him to slaughter that guy's daughter in cold blooded murder. Hey, one more thing... did anyone murder that cowled wiz in the port district in Athkala next to the harper's guild? Cool thing about that is that you can actually rest in his home, which resulted in my using his dinner table as a convenient storage area for all the items i can no longer use or will have a use for later. I've tabbed it as "party's home" for now for lack of a more suitable name. We crash there from time to time. Almost by design, there's a little halfling that sells useless trinkets outside our place who always claims that he hasn't much to offer. Well, he's certainly no pauper since he has no problem affording all the items of worth i bring to him for sale from my travels. It's really convenient! Whenever i pick up a new party member (which is often since i always end up in death resulting arguments with most of my ridiculous members... killing anomen was particularily memorable... right outside the hall of glory or whatever you call it after he blamed me for ruining his reputation.... I certainly didn't murder that merchant's daughter in cold blood.) I saunter by our place to suit up the newest lackey in the finest gear. Anyways, yeah, i feel like my days of waking up with keyboard marks on my face will never come to a close and 183 days and in the middle of that infernal maze where i've got a bad case of incredible hulk syndrome is feeling like a lot. I am talking game days here.

Well thats what you call a rambling monologue.
![]() 180 days is a bit long to be only in Spellhold, I think I finished the game in about 70 days the first time. You seem to getting a bit too much satisfaction out of murdering people, that Bhaal blood coursing through you has really taken over eh? ![]() |

I run a solo MC/RC, I am at the end of Chapter 6, and its only 29 days for me. However, I did skip a couple of quests.

Actually Modjahed, you skipped the whole one romance.
You skipped most Stronghold quests (if you got one in such short time). You skipped most NPC subquests too. Are you playing that game or running thru it just to impress someone here? You definetly haven't impressed me. But each to his own taste I'd say.

![]() Three things, Extremist. 1) You probably mistook me for some some 15-year old newbie. I am not trying to impress anyone, but myself - I have already stated that in some of my earlier posts. 2) Does the FAQ say that if you do not have anything to contribute to the thread, don't post. Lately I see that half of your posts are spam. 3) The person that started this thread needed a reference point. I gave mine, so hush. Have a good day! You're only taking too long if you're getting bored, Julius. (-: There's no time limit on the game, and the designers intentionally put in much more stuff than can be completed in 30 game days, so if you're doing most of it (not to mention distracting yourself with fighting party members), yeah, it can take a very long time.
There's nothing wrong with hurrying through it, either, if you enjoy that, but Extremist's right: there's no way Modjahed skipped only "a few" quests with that time course. (-: No way. |

It took me about 180 days to complete if.. the last chapters took maybe 20 days... and I felt comfortable, I did almost every quest and all.. I'm just sorry I never finished my Jaheira romance, it was incredibly slow.

Looking at my game with a bird's eye perspective, i think i've realised a couple of things regarding time. Someone mentioned the fun factor and i think you're bang-on. As long as i'm having a good time of it, there shouldn't be a limit on how long i want to spend doing so. Having said this, there's something i've noticed i'm doing which increases the amount of time in game days. Resting. Until healed. This is a convenient little feature which i can toggle on or off in one of the game options menus and saves me the trouble of having to physically cast all the appropriate healing magics upon successfully memorising them. When i had no cleric in the graveyard, for, after killing anomen (which i've mentioned) and allowing jaheira to decompose before my eyes (couldn't find that blasted idiot to remove her curse in time, because i had visited his home before our encounter and no one was there) my only "cleric" was minsc and his wide reportoire of healing magic, half of which failed upon casting. Thus, resting "until healed" often involved 16 or more hours of resting time. Do this often enough and, well, characters begin dying of old age and no one remembers spells anymore.

took me 40 days to get to spellhold, and that was my 1st time playin! if you concentrate on just finishing your quests quickly and cleanly (ie. no murder (hehheh)) youll get through alot quicker.

I did not hurry so mutch just to rescue Imoen. There was so many things to explore, so many beasts to slaughter
![]() Not to mention the stronghold quests and the romances which do take some time! |

I'm playing my current game backwards from all my previous ones. I just left for Spellhold on day 15, having done about as many quests as you might expect during that time (in other words, not very many!) I actually had the money I needed to go on day 9, but I waited to get my stronghold rolling first.
Then, when we all get back, we're going to wander around doing all the various quests and good deeds. It's kind of weird dawdling when some psycho's got your soul, but then, it's kind of weird dawdling when he's got your little sister, too. (-: |

first time i played, almost each quest tells you to hurry up and then there's imoen you have to rescue so i was running from place to place so the quests wouldn't time out resting as little as possible and worrying too much hehe
i finished the game in about 50 days. Bah tricked by the programmers

day 200 and counting and i'm just out of the underdark. Don't let those programmers fool you in the drow caverns. First of all, wasn't my cover supposed to have been blown if i so much as left the drow city?? Secondly, why doesn't it let you rest in the tavern unless you go all the way upstairs and talk to that massage guy? In fairness to the programmers, they don't let you rest when you're supposed to meet that nasty little drow in "one hour" but the rest of the time is yours, even before rescue missions or intimidation missions. Now that i'm not self conscious about the length of time it's taking me... who's taken longer than that?
