Some spoiler involving questions

Now that i've finished the game.... some things come to mind.

I thought i had completed virtually all the quests, but i have a problem with the lich thing. What on earth are the gilded corpse parts for? Found a torso in the bar at the entrance to athkala and a head in the bridge district... something else in the graveyard.. i dunno. What purpose does all of this serve??

Also, that book that korgan wanted me to find.. once we found it... is it useable for anything, or must it be sold off like a tom clancy novel on a saturday garage sale? If i wiped out an entire drow city, every man woman and child... who exactly is the dragon planning on exacting her revenge upon? I heard rumours of edwin turning into a chick... how does that happen? Does she become romance material?

what else..

for anyone who played a bard... does that play ever happen?? Mine never gets on the road, after all that money i spent on it. Are all strongholds a matter of putting money in and never getting any interesting quests out of them? I thought for sure i'd have to deal with that curse, but i never did.

Anyway.. finished the game and couldn't help feel a little cheated . Like, that's it? All this to help some stinky elves? And i don't even get the chance to wipe out their village after i'm done? Couldn't i take over the world? Couldn't i simply let imoen rot and go off in another direction. I liked blade runner for that reason. More than one possible ending ya know? Are there more possibilities that i'm missing? bah.. that's it for my ranting. Flame me if you want.

The bones are part of the infamous Kangaxx plot. Go to the dock district and enter the house just left of MeaVar's Guild. The quest will be initialized from downstairs.

The book of Kaza is so far just a economical boost for early-game. No other use has been found as of yet.

Fighter stronghold is a big expense as well, unless you're directly ruthless.
The mage stronghold is rather good though.

If you want multiple endings and a resolution to the story you should get ToB. And if you've never played BG1 you should get it too. The games take on a new meaning when all linked together.

1) You kill a lich in the old tunnels (near the cult of the unseeing eye) to get the golden arms, and kill the lich in the bridge district to get the golden torso. There is a house in the Docks district (one left of Mae'Vars IIRC) where there is a tomb. Inside the tomb there is a golden skull who asks for you to find his arms/torso. When you give them to him, there is a very hard fight.

2) I'm not sure about this, so correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't serve any other purpose.

3) I heard a few drow saying that there army was gathering elsewhere for an attack on the surface. That was why there was so little opposition. Adalon can get her revenge on them...

4)When you go into the graveyard, Edwin will tell you off the nether scroll. If you go into the Southern Crypts, there is a Lich somewhere who you fight for it. If you follow certain dialogue paths, in a few days, he will become a woman. However, this gets reveresed eventually. There is no romance options or anything like that.

5) I'm currently playing a blade at the moment, but I've barely got past paying lots of gold at the start.

6) Buy Throne of Bhaal. There is only one ending for SoA.

See, I twice posted in ToB forum for ToB players to check if Book of Kaza can be used anywhere in ToB.

Trivia question: How many ToB players actually had Book of Kaza in inventory?
Answer: None.

Epilogue: I'm so pissed that I'm buying ToB myself just to check this book by myself.

I think that the ranger stronghold is pretty good. Good quests and nice rewards. And the mage one is also good. But the thief stronghold? Is there any quests at all in it except for the ambush and running the guildhouse? Or does it only exist to improve your financial situation (which shouldn't be that bad)?

No, there's only those two quests (the ambush and the embezzling thief), and then forevermore you have to go back to the guild twice a week to collect your money and pay the quartermaster. It annoyed me so much I started using the console to teleport there and back whenever I got the stupid message. I was still holding out hope that there would be a third quest sometime if I stuck with it, but there wasn't, and then I checked the dialogue files when the game was over and sure enough, that's all there is.

Extremist, that's an interesting proposition.... damn... i thought i might be out from under the shadows of baldur's gatetitus addiction. Personally, i wish i could equip the book of kaza as a weapon. Speaking of books... did anyone find any great spells in the book of eternal spells or whatever it's called? Is it completely random? Did anyone get to the last page? And, why on earth do i pay that little mongrel of a dwarf like 2000 gp to make red dragon scale and then i try and sell it and the merchant wants to give me no more than 976 gold and a pair of old boots? Same with the shadow dragon armour. What kind of profit is that? Poor investments prospecti in this game i tell ya. That dwarf is a con man anyway... never got enough helpers around and i've gotta do the work for him. I tried robbing him once but that only called the guards, like, instantly and he got all pissed and attacked me with red hot irons and a few insults. Didn't have anything in his coffers anyhow. OH! before i forget, i found a scroll on the corpse of a shadow dragon Trisxxdryallleynhvoew or whatever. It allegedly is an instruction manual on how to make a scud missile or something of that nature. Anyone get the pieces? Where the heck are they? And did anyone try baking those brownies or muffins or scones or something... there's a recipe scroll you can find in spellhold i think. Worth more than red dragon scale according to the merchants i spoke to... til next time..

You pay Cromwell because the armor you get is GOOD!

And that scroll you retrieved from the shadow dragon's corpse happens to be nothing else than the Crom Faeyr scroll, which in combination with the Girdle of Frost giant strength (found in the Underdark), the Hammer of Thunderbolts (found in the illithid section of the Temple sewers, I think), and the Gauntlets of Ogre Power (found in the Planar Sphere) make the most fearsome weapon in the history of Creation! (or at least in BG2)

1) The book of Infinite Spells: There are only 9 spells available in this book. They are: Invisibility, Protection from Evil, True Seeing, Farsight, Fireball, Spellturning, Wyvren call, Stinking Cloud, Lightning Bolt and Burning hands. The higher the level of spell, the lower chance there is of getting the spell.

2) Red Dragon Scales: This is one of the best armours in the game, I don't see why you would want to sell it. But of course you will need to spend more money to make it. Cromwell would need materials, as well as compensation for his time spent etc. You would just be selling the raw item.

3) The Crom Faeyer Scroll: This is a component of one of the best weapons in the game. You also need the gauntlets of Ogre Power (In the Planar Sphere), the belt of something strength (Found on a Demon Knight in the Underdark) and the hammer of thunderbolts (Found in the Mind Flayer Den in the Temple Sewer District). It makes a nice hammer, defintiely worth making a tleast once, if only to see what it does. It is a +5 weapon, setting the users strength to 25, and automaticallt destroys certain creatures....

good armor, i agree... but if special armor worse than this is worth more.... it makes absolutely no sense. Considering that , say, armor of the ghoul, which is good, is worth ten times as much as red friggin dragon scale armor i'm saying it makes no sense at all. Hmmm should i make armor out of a ghoul or a dragon... which one's tougher.... can't decide. I'd like to make armor out of an elf.... all immune to charm and stuff, that might be fun.

What is it with you and Elves, you got some kinda problem with the fair folk? Or is it some strange outlandish reason?

Julius Skull: I suggest playing a Chaotic Evil Dwarf next time... they do great against elves... Bring along Korgan for the Fun.
Ohhh, and play ToB.

Personally, my favorite kit is the Blade... I don't know but perhaps I may be the only Bard loyalist here after having used all kits.

Does the play ever get finished?
Yes, it does. I think it depends on your alignment, whether you finish it or not. In my Chaotic Neutral Blade's game, I got to finish it... and guess what. I got to play the lead role and invent the Music!

i had a fireball in book of infinite spells. Tho never bothered to turn the page lol. I'd say the spells are random from a list.

<edit> Oh, if you read the journal after you finish korgan's quest, it says the only thing left to do is to sell the book for some profit. So, almost certainly, there's nothing else to do with that book at all i think. I had hoped at first that it was something like the tomes of dex/wis etc in BG. a let down.. </edit>

well, i normally wouldn't be very upset about having to keep better armor while selling cheap shtuff for a fortune, however i already own better armor than the dragon scale armors. Thus, i've wasted my money on making armor that i'm not going to use because i thought it would be better than what i own. To add insult to injury, i can't sell the armor that fool made me for anything more than a thousand gp. Therefore, the dwarf paid for it with his life. I tried to make armor out of him too, but his beard caught fire before i could skin him. Now he's a charred remnant of what used to be a great dwarf. Oh well, at least his polished skull looks good next to the phermaldahyde jar with yoshimo's heart in it. These things happen you know... so you see, i don't just take elves for their hide. How's the book of Kaza going Tjekanefir? Is it just as valuable while equally useless? Another thing i'd like to ask.... what the hell is that severed vampire hand for??? Did i use it and not know it? It's still in my inventory just being all gross. Why did i keep such things?

Without the severed vampire hand, also known as the Hand of Dace, you would not have made it out of Spellhold But yes, it stays in your inventory. Just get rid of it where you see fit...In the pirate's lord stew, in the Saughin City sewer system, in Phaere's bed...you get the picture
