I have already finished BG2 once as a paladin but I didn't realy use the ranged weapons much. This time through the game I am probably going to be an archer and I was wondering if anyone had sugestions on what bows or X-bows I should use.

I suggest using a heavy crossbow and bolts +1 only (for a weapon). and no gauntlets of dextarity or archery.

You should probably stick with one type of ranged weapon - put 5* in either long, short, or cross bow.
Personally I would go with long bow, but it's a matter of opinion. Long Bows: Elven Court Bow (found in D'Arnise keep) Heartseeker bow (Firkraag's dungeon) Other items to get: Bracers of Archery - Troll mound in Druid grove, gives +2 to THAC0 on ranged weapons but becomes less useful later as archers have awesome THAC0 anyway. Replace them with... Bracers of Blinding Strike - Underdark, these cast Improved Haste once per day which will increase your number of attacks to 8 or 9 or so. |
