I would like some help of you fellow SPers. For one of my English lessons (ironic isnt it? Me who has the sloppiest English in this community is actually an English teacher) I am going to have my pupils choose between a few articles to read and I am having trouble finding diverse enough articles for them to read. It is seventh grade so the kids are around 13 years old so nothing inappropriate. Any text really which is interesting and can appeal to kids that age is welcome so if you run across an interesting article in your aimless browsing dont hesitate to post a link here for me to check it out.

Thanks in advance!

reepnorp will become famous soon enough

There's always this. Its pretty interesting, albeit a little bit graphic. I had to do something about this a few weeks back in science.

Dendri is on a distinguished road

Maybe something about astronomy?
I dont have a link, but I guess that children might be interested in space, planets, our star system and such.

I did something similar with 9 year olds a few months ago and I used articles about keeping Clown Fish in aquariums to capitalise on the fact that at the time anything evenly remoted related to 'Finding Nemo' was guaranteed to grab their attention.

What about this ? It seems pretty relevant to kids thinking. I think that it's actually intended for seventh grade readers. Or are you looking for something a little bit longer? Can you give us a little a little more idea of what you need?

That was interesting Dragonfly but not really what I was looking for. I am looking for articles about real life stuff which can tickle the interest of a non-native 13 year old English pupil. About anything really. It should be between one and two pages long.

L has disabled reputation

Seemingly along the lines of what Chandos said, but have a look through the sites of recognised newspapers/current affairs magazines.

Something like the Times for a newspaper, or perhaps the Guardian, Telegraph or Independent (and respective Sunday versions of all) over here in the UK, looking out for features and opinion articles. Don't know how the rest of those fare for websites. All British there, and I'm not too much up on the best magazines to try. New Scientist might be a good one, but I don't think you can get them online (articles I mean), magazine wise the only current affairs based one I'd read is Private Eye, which I wouldn't recommend for this.
