GAME MOD REVIEWERS

I'm looking for a few experienced gamers interested in writing reviews of various finished mods (no betas) for SP. To begin with, I would like to see reviews of all larger mods (for any of the games covered on SP). The reviewers will be required to install and play the latest available versions of the mods they plan on reviewing.

The requirements for anyone wanting to apply:

- Decent knowledge of grammar & spelling. No |33t, please.

- While not an essential requirement, experience from playing any other mods besides the one you will be reviewing is highly desired.

- You will need to have completed the game you will be reviewing a mod for at least once before, unmodded. This is essential for you to be able to recognize any differences the mods might make to the original game.

- Objectivity is of the utmost importance. You will need to look at the mods with a critical eye. You will be expected to find flaws, and point them out. Flaws can be anything from poor grammar and spelling in new dialogue introduced by the mods (or in item descriptions), to balance issues if a mod is littered with +5 or higher weapons or otherwise only a munchkin's dream and not much else. Pointing out any bugs is also important.

- You will be expected to have played through the mod you will be reviewing, and try out as many of its features as possible, preferably all of them. There is no minimum or maximum limit on the length of the reviews, but, as was pointed out, you should cover all the aspects of the mod you are reviewing.

- As there are literally thousands of NWN modules out there, we will only be posting reviews of the major ones, i.e. the ones high on the popularity ladder, and any that a reviewer is particularly excited over.

- Again, not an essential requirement, but if a mod is still in development, being willing to update the original review after significant changes is a plus.

Benefits for resident mod reviewers (after more than 3 reviews):

- Instant recognition on the forums via the Mod Reviewer tag and a custom avatar/portrait and title of your choice.

How to apply:

Applications for this position should be sent to me via PM, along with:

1. A short explanation why you think you would be a good mod reviewer.

2. Information which mod you would like to review first. See below which mods are already taken, so you don't pick one somebody else is already reviewing, and and see forum for which mods have already been reviewed.

3. Any other questions you might have.

What needs to be included at the beginning of every review (template):

Exact mod name as it appears in the readme (in bold)
Version: full mod version details
Review first posted on: date
Review updated: leave blank for now
Mod download location: exact url to the page where the mod can be downloaded from

- All the reviews should be sent to me (preferably as Word docs) prior to posting them in this forum, so I can check if anything needs to be changed or fixed. Make sure to:

a) run a grammar & spelling check on the whole review before sending it in
b) read through the whole review once when it's finished, to see if you spot any mistakes
c) split your review into easy to read paragraphs, possibly even into titled subunits, if your review is longer

- When posting a review, mark which game the mod is for in the topic. Example: "BG2/ToB - Tactics Module Review".

Currently Assigned Reviewers:

None.
