Maximus from NWVault has posted the last installment of the wrap-up of his visit to Obsidian headquarters in search of NWN2 lore. This time, Community Manager Shane DeFreest answers some questions. Here's a snip:
5) What do you think of the NWN community and where would you like to see it go with NWN2?
The NWN community is nothing short of amazing! In my opinion the NWN community set the standard as to exactly what a community can do to enhance everyone's enjoyment of a game. As a huge fan of the first game, having played all the expansions, downloaded modules, hack packs, and even poked around a bit with some of the NWN persistent worlds it is, in my opinion, the best and most dedicated community for any video game published to date. As for NWN2, our goal is a smooth transition to the new game. OE's approach to NWN2 is "if it aint broke don't fix it" and that's what we plan on sticking to as well. Our role is to help the community make transition to NWN2 and our way of doing that is being a resource for the community at large. As we get closer to the games release and certainly after it ships we will undoubtedly see a number of NWN2 fan sites come into existence. Our belief is that a community builds and becomes stronger with diversity and everyone working together so that's what we're here to do.
