Here's a snip: These days, massively multiplayer games are more prevalent than bacteria in a Mexican hot dog. While everyone hears about the success stories, like EverQuest and City of Heroes, there are many MMOs that are released and instantly slip below the radar. Remember the Myst MMO? Neither do we. Earth and Beyond? Vanished without a trace. So it's clear that putting out an MMO is no longer a license to print money. The guys at Turbine Entertainment are some of the most experienced developers for making MMO games, and they've had their share of success (Asheron's Call) and failure (Asheron's Call 2).
