NWVault has posted an interview with Skyrmir, RyanDarth and Dallo, the authors of the module entitled Caereena-Krakona Rising now in NWVault's Hall of Fame. Here's a snip:
2. Could you please tell newbies an overview of Caereena-Krakona Rising?
Skyrmir: I shuffle the bits and bytes around - this is a question for Dallo, our design genius. I will say we did some fairly innovative scripting on this project, and learned enough to know we can do even better.
RyanDarth: Well Dallo is the best man for that job so I will leave that to him but in short its an epic level module full of fun filled excitement and adventure.
Dallo: CKR is a story-driven hack/slash, epic in size, PC level and story. Although it borrows a bit from FR sometimes, the world of Caereena is a unique place which largely creates its own references. The world is populated by creatures mutated by powerful Overlords to fit specific niches within their slave-saturated society, a society which was thrown down during a revolt by the now Free Races of Caereena. They thought all the Krakona were dead, but one rises again to power and Caereena is embroiled in civil war.
In the background there is an ancient prophecy to fulfil, and lots of other stuff going on as well. There are some very cool gadgets including an offensive sequencer and contingency devices. Hundreds of custom items and creatures. The main design philosophy was that area builds, "look" in general, could help create mood and other ambience just as well as other devices. You are unlikely to find another module out there that is as consistently beautiful as CKR….
