I made an error in judgement when I was trying to complete a task for the thieves guild. I stole something in plain site and then turned myself into the authorities to pay my fine. The problem was that I didn't realize all my stolen items would be taken away from me...
Anyway I got back to the thieves guild and then I realized I didn't have my items anymore. Lucky for me I had a saved game before I had gone to steal the items. But what I really wanted to know is where the stolen items go. Do they go back to where they were originally stolen from? Do they completely disappear from the game? Or do they go somewhere else? It'd be great if someone could help me satisfy my curiosity in this matter. Thanks |

I don't have the X-Box version, but I know that in the PC version, if you're caught by a guard, all your stolen items are placed in the evidence locker at the nearest Imperial fort. You can steal them back, but, unless you're strongly RPing, I'd say reload. Ther's a lot of guards in your average Legion Fort, and it always seems like half of them do nothing but stare at the evedence chest all day.

There are several of the these 'eveidence chests' around the game world in forts and other places. Look here for help if you need it:
