Latest Active Threads Display Temporarily Disabled

    [​IMG] Some of you have already noticed that the latest active forum threads display on the front page of SP isn't displaying anything. I've disabled it yesterday because I noticed that for some reason it occasionally stops the front page from rendering properly, so until we can figure out why that's happening and fix it, it'll remain turned off. Hopefully it won't be long until I can charm Calis or Catbert to take a look at it, but the unpredictable nature of the problem makes it very hard to track it down.

    In the meantime you can bookmark http://www.sorcerers.net/index_lat.php, which is a copy of the front page that has the latest active threads display turned on, but its functioning can't be guaranteed at the moment.

    It happened whenever he posted and his username got into Latest Active Threads. Something as innocent as apostrophes can be a major headache in PHP...

    Ah, I haven't gotten to PHP in my programming classes yet. Wow, that must be frustrating! Are there any other users with an apostrophe in the name that helped the problem?

    I don't think there are any that are currently active, which is why this problem only came up so rarely... if there were more, it would have been much easier to track down the problem sooner. Any issues with apostrophes/single quote marks are very easy to fix, it's just that sometimes it's hard to track them down.
