Need Help with Thieves Quest

I am trying to complete the first quest for aran linval. You are supposed to meet Mook on the docks at night for instructions. I can not find him/her anywhere. I thought i might have ran into her earlier(before i got the quest) Is that possible? Anyone know any bugs associated with this quest?

I don't know whether or not you can meet Mook before you take the quest, but what you need to do is go down to southermost point of the docks and go down the stairs that go to the water. You will see a ShadowThief hanging out. That is Mook. Talk to her and the quest will kick in.

I read some old posts concerning your problem and I didnt find anything about a bug...
Make sure you are at the right place ate the right time.
Maybe its not enough when it gets dark, perhaps you have to be there at midnight...I don't know....(look at the clock in the lower left corner of your screen)

She is only present at the docks down the stairs at night. Sometimes you have to wait an entire day before she stands there.

of course you have to activate the quest first.

Just try going down and sleeping at the spot where Mook will appear until you awake and a shadow theif is standing there.

I know for sure that you do not have to be there at midnight. Any "night" time is sufficent. I have been there when it has been pretty bright outside. She is alittle hard to find so follow the intstructions given in previous posts and all should be well.

She's hidden in the docks area just down some stairs south of the shadow thieves guild hall

Alas, poor Mook; I knew her...

Is there any way to save her? I've sometimes wondered if there would be any point, or if her exuent serves to move the plotline forward. Any thoughts?

There is no way to save her. Sorry.

Plus, the lame game won't let you resurrect anyone who is not party member... *shrug*
