Killing trolls

Did you know that trolls can be killed without fire? That is, once they are down on the ground you normally have to hit them with fire to kill them, but if you hit them hard enough to breach their DR 100 they die to normal melee/missile attacks.

Yeah, I've occasionally seen a troll get killed without fire. All things considered though, fire and acid attacks aren't all that difficult to come by, so I haven't worried much about it.

They die of poison, too, I've noticed.

Seems like game designers deemed that 100 damage resistance against anything is considered 'immunity'. For example, Slayer Knights are supposed to be immune to fire, but a high level Delayed Blast Fireball still manages to hurt them, especially on a failed save. Or that you can destroy the Viciscamera in the Underdark even without the conversion poison by trumping its DR.

Pretty much everything in the game will go down if you hit it hard enough and for long enough!
