So I've got Morigan's quest to:
Spoiler! It took me awhile to figure out that you can't have her in the party when you go back...but that aside, I took me (a lvl 14 Warrior), Wynne, Shale, and Allister...and OMFG!!!! She's Spoiler! Now, I've dealt with such things before, but this time, I get my arse handed to me every single attempt. I've tried different tactics, different party members, hell...I even acted like a coward and dropped the difficulty down to easy....and still no luck. ![]() So my questions are: To continue the Morrigan romance, do I have to complete this quest? Or is the romance as far as it will go once Spoiler! What level would you recommend I attempt this at? My usual tactic for times like this it to use vulnerability hex + cone of cold and have my two favorite tanks whack away as Wynne heals as needed...but seeing as how my favorite apostate can't be in the party, I'm kind of screwed. |

Another way around Flemeth
Spoiler! As for killing her. The lower level the PC is the easier it is to kill Flemeth. The higher level your PC is the harder it is to kill her. The game adjusts the level of enemies for each area based on the level of the PC. I found having two tanks and two ranged attackers the easiest way to take her down. Best weapon against Flemeth Spoiler! |

Hmmm....I'll try taking Leliana, Zevran, and Wynne. I'm going to have to lvl both Leliana and Zevran up just a bit so they can use the bows I've been holding on to for some time now.

If you can equip one or both of the them with ice arrows, that'll help speed things along.

I thought the battle was very easy. I won it on the first try in a quite similar way as Death Rabbit did. I did not need potions that much either except for the occasional healing or lyrium potion. Just have your archers fire at her while a tank keeps her busy. This was on normal difficulty. Also this seemed to be a valid tactic for other similar enemies. Others just move a bit more making it a bit more difficult.

Indeed. Most powerful group I've played was 3 mages and a tank. Spell combos galore!

My PC has the Juggernaut Armor, and Allister has the Templar Armor right now, but he's almost strong enough to wear my old Blood Dragon Armor.
As for arrows, I've been using nothing but Elven Flight arrows...totally forgot about the ice arrows in my pack. ![]() Also, I've got a few dragon scales in my pack, which I assume can be made in to the armor that Ironmancal2131 mentioned....but where the heck do I get it forged at? |

I managed to kill her off yesterday. Got her in the first attemt. My party was around level 16 though. Left me quite stunned, to be honest. First time ever that i have killed "an enemy of her kind", in the first attemt, in any crpg.
My main char is a dual wielding fighter. Had Alistair with me, and the dog. With Wynne staying back and casting healing spells and cone of cold etc. My main character hit the dirt fairly early, but Dog certainly delivered in that particular fight. Truth be told though, i am convinced i was very very lucky in that fight. Was one of those times where everything just went perfectly. |

Iirc I had main char (fighter), Leliana, Wynne and Sten. Also, iirc around level 16 or 18. Wynne was indispensable.
As for the scales, Spoiler! |

I just killed her, brought a naked assassin and he and the dog died pretty much instantly and then my pc mage (without any frost magic) and Shale tanked and spanked Flemeth with liberal use of healing poultices.

Spoiler! Ragusa I'm fairly certain Kitrax was referring to the Blood Dragon Armor DLC and not Wades Drakeskin. |

Yay! I finally killed her!
![]() I used my PC as a tank, Allister and Leliana stood back and used ice arrows. Leliana used Frost Bombs whenever she was able to. Wynne did nothing but heal/revive my PC. Now I have no lyrium. Anyone know where I can buy it in bulk?

Generally cheaper to use healing poultices instead of spam healing and using up all your lyrium potions or at least mix em. I know yuo can get an unlimited amount of the materials to make healing poultices and it is cheap so that is what I do. I am running a two mage party and have never really run out of lyrium pots. I am starting to pump up my PC's constitution now though so she can utilize the bloodmagic some more but her mana pool is rather massive so it is only in longer battles it will be needed unless I want to use these nifty bloodmagic abilities.

The quartermaster in the mage tower has unlimited amounts of lyrium powder (I think the dwarven merchants in your camp has that as well). Just buy a bunch from him and make the potions yourself (you can for the most part get buy with the lowest rank of lyrium potions, just script your mages to take them at 75% mana using tactics).

Just had quite a lot of fun this weekend including this fight. Was pretty thrilling IMO
My party was 11/12; I had tried it earlier before I went to get Shale and I really didn't have much fire damage reduction gear so it was a miserable failure. After I got Shale and saw he had 20% reduction in fire damage with one of the large clear crystals I had, I tried it again with him, my rogue PC, Liliana and Wynne. Still took a couple of tries because even though everyone but Shale was far away, my PC was dishing out the most damage with his bow so the dragon started using "Fire Spit" on him over and over again. So I tried again using a Greater Warmth Balm on my PC and was successful, though my PC died once near the end. I think my Greater Warmth Balm must have worn off because I was pretty sure I had enough life to survive if it was intact. I just had Wynne Revive him and the dragon was dead shortly after. What was fun is that the dragon changed tactics. It focused on Shale for the first part of the battle, but then seemed to realize my PC was the damage dealer and started focusing on him. He stayed out of range of everything but the Fire Spit, but there was something the dragon used (Wing Buffet?) to pull my PC in close so he'd have to run back out to where he was. Pretty fun! |

Using Shale's and other warriors taunt has really made so many fights easy for me. Treating Dragon Age like WoW really simplifies everything, tanks up front, lots of hp, lots of threat and dont let them focus on dmg but on keeping the mobs on them, a healer to keep the tank alive and two dps who actually kills stuff and most fights are very manageble. Heck, I have started going mad with the AoE as I can heal through it so I often fight in a blizzard, inferno and that gas cloud thing. Mages outside and Shale and Dog in it bashing things. If you havent tried blood magic you should, the last two spells are stupidly overpowered and short enough cooldowns that you often use them morethan once in a fight.

I was faced with quite a dilemma going into this fight, that is during my evil playthrough. I've developed my main character as an Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage, but without developing that Spirit line that includes Force Field.
And I hadn't gotten Shale yet either, so ... My tank was the Mabari Hound. Flemeth can't do her hideous "toss you in the air and take several bites" attack on the hound. So the hound can chew away with near impunity after I equip him with the Black Metal Torque that can be bought from Bodahn, and the war paint that gives +30% fire resistance from the innkeeper at the Lake Calenhad docks. Then I spread myself out (using the Staff of the Magister Lord), and Leliana and Zevran as archers, over the field so that Dragon's Breath and Fire Spit doesn't catch everyone and healing is rather routine. Worked like a charm. ![]() Note: Sten is my usual warrior for an evil playthrough, he rocks with the Starfang greatsword. But I brought on Leliana and the Hound just for this fight. |
