I'm glad I own the game on the PS3. At least the PS3 owners have known for a while the game would be released later on than the PC or XBox 360. Maybe Bioware should wait until all 3 are ready to be release instead of trying to force one out over another.

I for one am happy about the delay. Yeah, I have to wait a little longer, which sucks a big one - but if that means I'm guaranteed a better product, delay away. I've played too many lame or broken expansions that weren't worth the money for whatever reason (usually because they were rushed). Bioware's commitment to quality control is what makes me love them so much.

To be honest I'm not even waiting for it anymore. I did put on hold my third playthrough so I could play it with the DLC during the holidays and then I had to put on hold my fourth playthrough so I've decided not to bother anymore.

I plan to play the following two characters through DAO to play in DA Awakening before I attempt DA Awakening with the Orelisan origin. 1) Male Rogue City Elf - Ranger as the first specialization 2) Human Male Mage - Not selecting a specialization |

I have time.
I'll play on a bit. I'll play Mass Effet a bit when I set up my comp anew with the SSD. And then, after that, i will play Mass Effect 2. And then there is still ample time for RtO. Sound plan IMO. |

Any updates?
I was hoping the DLC to released around Thanksgiving; maybe Xmass last year. Now I'm hoping around President's Day... (just to stick with the game being released around a holiday...) |

IIRC it was released very briefly for the Xbox, then retracted because of "technical problems", and that's the last anyone's heard of it. I've read some user reviews on the net though, so I assume people did manage to get it before it was taken off. Just about all reviews were pretty negative though, so I'm not sure what's going on. Bio/EA will have to release it soon though, since Awakening is coming out in March.

To elaborate in case Chandos hasn't followed the news, it's a DLC where you allegedly go back to Ostagar anytime after Lothering to find the armour of King Cailan (I think you could also find his sword, or Duncan's sword?). It was supposed to be released on the 5th of this month, and then was delayed to the 13th. Then on the 13th it was released for Xbox for only a few hours before it was pulled due to IIRC an issue with it relocking achivements or specialisations or some such. Supposedly they pulled it and delayed the PC version again so they could fix this issue, but that was the last we've heard of the DLC.
There were a few user reviews/comments about it so I assume some people managed to download it. All the ones I read were pretty negative, claiming there was no story in the DLC (I think they were comparing it to Warden's Keep but I haven't played that one) and that it consisted of nothing but fighting darkspawn and had no bearing on the main game (would've expected it to affect the Landsmeet at least). It was going to be sold for $5, so cheaper than Warden's Keep for about the same length (I think they said one hour). That's about all I remember. |

Has this been released yet? I have yet to see it on PSN (playstation network) for a download.

It has been released. I DLd it last night for my PC. It could be that it's not yet out for PS. You should check the Dragon Age main website to confirm.
EDIT - I just checked, and the status for PS3 is coming soon. PC and XBOX 360 have been out for a couple of weeks.

As of yesterday still now RtO for PS3. Here we are less than 3 weeks away from DAO:Awakening being released and with each passing day Bioware and EA are lossing RtO sales for the PS3. Idiots!

It gets even worse when you realize that RTO is a very minor addition to the game.

At least they are releasing a patch to the game on 3/4/2010. It would have been nice if both would have been released when they released the DLC for the XBox 360. |

At this point, I think I'm going to wait 6 months or so before playing the game again, and I'm sure that by that time they'll be offering a "Platinum Pack" or something, selling all the additions together for the price of one of them now. As it stands, the dollar value for the amount of content provided is just not worth it. I mean they're charging $40 for Awakenings. $40! That's almost as much as a stand-alone game. Given how short the DLCs are so far, that takes some balls, Bioware.

Probably my favorite aspect of RtO is some of the equipment you find in Ostagar. In particular, Cailan's armor is great, and I loved having Alistair don it. Great stats, awesome look, and a chance for Alistair to wear his brother's armor. And even though the expansion was a essentially just another darkspawn fest, I enjoyed it. I think it should have been priced at $2.99 USD, but meh.

Wait - what? Are you serious? Although I got DAO as a gift I know how much my friend paid for it: $30. And a week later we were visiting a game shop and the price had dropped even further, around 25 or so. That was just a month after the game had been released. Considering there's no way Awakening will have anything close to the amount of content in the main game (I'm guessing between a third and half) $40 sounds like a lot. I'm most certainly not getting the expansion until the price drops by half.
