Do I really need all these fixes?

Hi,

I begun to play PS:T first time. I installed official 1.1 path. Do I really need all other unofficial fixes or it is possible to play without them?

It is very possible to play without them. Quite frankly, I trot the game out every couple of years and I never bother with anything other than the official patch.

You don't need it but I would recommend Platter's fixpack as it eliminates a number of small but rather annoying bugs that weren't fixed in the official fixpack.

So, is it right that without this fixes I can not use crossbow? If yes then can I fix only this bug?

It's not a bug, there's only one character in the game that uses ranged weaponry that joins your party. There aren't any crossbows or bows in the game other than what that NPC comes with - without modification.

Yes, but in fix it is said that this one character can not use crossbow without the fix.

I've never heard of that myself, what fixpack are you looking at?

I've only installed the official patch and have never had a problem with that particular npc using crossbows. The patch is all that's needed (and yours may already be patched). I found no bugs in the game that detracted from the overall play.

Apparently I was wrong. There is only "red color" in the fix's notes.

Yea I think there was one crossbow that was shaded red as though it were unequippable, but it still worked.
