But only the song title could be misunderstood because the song isn't about birds. It's about being happy.

The age old source of confusion:

Blinded by the light
Wrapped up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Sounds like "douche", to me a deuce is a playing card, so I don't understand wrapping it, totally confusing to me after several decades.

Some acquaintances from East Germany, in Commie times, didn't know English, let alone did they have records (they listened to black market tapes instead) and they decided, because it was hip at the time, to give their son a cool, English name. So they called him Kenneth, after the famous American singer Kenneth Heat.

Guys - it's not "wrapped" up like a deuce. It's "revved" up like a deuce. And the reference is a deuce coupe automobile (also found in a Beach Boys song).

This one was not genuinely misunderstood but deliberately misconstrued for comedic effect back in the day: REO Speedwagon - Take It On The Run.

You take it on the run, baby
If that's the way you want it, baby ...

Substitute "bun" or "bum" for run and use "take it in" instead of "take it on" and you have the makings of a funny song. Plus REO Speedwagon deserved it.

There's something that seems somewhat manufactured about her, at least to me, Gaear. I've tried listening to her -- my kids listen to her constantly and she is always playing in the background at work, since I work for a very large electronics retailer. I can't get into her voice, nor do I like her music.

The song Venus by Shocking Blue was incredibly popular in Russia and the songtitel became a concept, the "introduction" of western (pop)culture in Russia.
The actual songtitle was unknown for the Russians and called the song Shizgara (She's got it).

I love that! A whole generation marked by a phenomenon named after a misunderstanding.
