So I just started Throne of Bhaal after importing a save from SoA, and the game is moving in what appears to be either 75% or half speed...
Please tell me this isnt normal and that there is a way to fix it. The pace is so grueling slow... |

Start the BG2 config program and test if changing the settings helps. The general game speed setting is in gameplay/miscellaneous/frame rate (should be 30), if it's still too slow play around with the other settings.

I have the framerate set to 60. Characters with boots of speed move slightly faster than normal speed, and characters without speed boosts move like they are encumbered.
Animations are slow, enemy movements are slow, AI reactions are slow, its as if the entire game has been slowed. Voice acting hasn't changed, everything besides general animation and gamespeed is fine. Its still playable but the slower speed is a detriment to the excitement that came with playing at the faster game speed. |

Change framerate to 20 or 30, that won't affect the display much but it will enable the computer to catch up.

Do you have a lot of mods installed? If so you must use generalised biffing to biff your override folder for increased performance.
Do you have bottomles bags and tons of stuff in them, or stacks of arrows, bullets, potions etc. with very high numbers, like 99+? Drop them all and free you inventory a bit. Seems like some SoA based scripts are still 'alive' and running behind the scenes, slowing down your game. This page may help: http://www.shsforums.net/topic/54602...he-stuttering/ If all else fails, open up your save game with Shadow Keeper. Under globals section, there should be tons of globals. Delete the unneeded ones. Like, SoA-only quest timers, SoA NPC romance/dialogue globals, etc. There should be hundreds there. Use common sense. Do not delete something to do with ToB only enemies and quests, for instance, or you will screw up your save game. The more globals you delete, the lighter the save game will be. Always keep a seperate copy of the save game incase you delete something vital for ToB part. Or else you will get stucked. This is a dangerous, last-attempt if you do not know what you are doing. For example, deleting a global about Druid Groove quest is OK. Deleting a global about a ToB boss being dead will spoil your save game since you won't be able to continue the ToB quests. |
