A very silly and very far fetched idea about a TV series from the 80s...

I noticed some likeness between Keldorn and the leader of the A team aka Hannibal Smith (I said it was silly). So I wonder whether it would be possible to recreate an A Team look alike party:

Here is my cast -so far:

-Keldorn as Hannibal Smith

-Jan Jansen as Howlin' Mad Murdock obviously

-Minsc or Valygar with gold necklace and rings of course as B.A. (Minsc is a bit dumb and not gruff enough, Valygar is gruff but not very muscular, Minsc berserking instead of B.A.'s fear of flying?)

-Haer'Dalis as Face? That one is hard, IMO a Bard would be the most suited candidate and HD is the only match perhaps a PC thief with maxed out CHA?

Nalia or Imoen as Amy -after all Nalia did hire the team

That leaves the PC out and a Cleric could be useful. Perhaps have the PC look like B.A. since there is a Mr T. soundset on SP.

I rejected some candidates: Korgan and Edwin (evil), Anomen, Cernd (didn't fit in), Yoshimo (a suitable sidekick)

I love it when a plan comes together!

Great idea. I think Minsc might be better at BA, based on the gruffness factor.

HD is a good choice too, as probably is Jan Jansen.

I fail to see the resemblence between Hannibal and Keldorn, however, except the fact they have both grey hair. Besides, I liked Hannibal alot when watching the series, but I really dislike Keldorn. Thus my choice would be to cast the pc as Hannibal, using Keldorn's picture.

A sort of an unnatural BA/Murdock IMO Does Murdock mention space hamsters?
Minsc is going to impersonate BA then. Great line Magpie!

@Meatdog: I don't like Keldorn either but he is the most experienced fighter in the game and a true leader, there is no other NPC.

It feels weird having the PC as Hannibal because of the age of this character (that's why I thought of Keldorn) a child of Bhaal is going to be much younger...

Good point there, Caradhras. I actually vote for Nalia as Amy. Like you said, she did hire the A-team party and she has the darkest hair color of all female npcs, iirc.

Nalia, definitely Nalia.

So roughly:

Hannibal -=- Keldorn

B.A. -=- Minsc (thank you guys I couldn't make my mind, but you're right it has to be Minsc)

Murdock -=- Jan

Face -=- PC (swashbuckler) "Peck"?

Amy -=- Nalia

The sixth slot is going to be reserved for guests and cameo appearances.
I decided to replace HD with the PC (I think I'm going to use Garrick's avatar) since I've got to have a PC anyway and I do believe that Swashbuckler would be the best class to impersonate Faceman (and Face is an orphan).
What do you think, does it look convincing?
I actually begin to think that this party is going to be really great fun to play.

Too bad Face has the best reasons to be the pc, since Murdock as a CN Jester would be great to reflect him.

If you're going to make the pc as Face, I still think the Blade fits him better. He's a charmer, and as such is more of a bard type than a thief type. Maybe a Skald.

Face charmed more than fought, but when push came to shove, he did fight. Never showy as a bard would. A better name might be Templeton instead of Peck.

Jan has all the great banters which is exactly what Murdock is about. Perhaps I will use SK and turn him into a Jester (since the party will have a full time mage and a full time thief and I don't really like MCing).

A Blade would be too much of a fighter for Faceman (Face usually call BA for help when confronting a really big guy). A Swashbuckler still has bonuses but no spins. The way I see it traps fit nicely, in every single episode they used to turn tractors into tanks and set plenty of traps.
So the choice would have to be made between Skald and Swashbuckler:
Quote:
SKALD: A Nordic bard who is also a warrior of great strength, skill and virtue. The Skald's songs are inspiring sagas of battle and valor, and the Skald's life is devoted to those pursuits.
SWASHBUCKLER: This rogue is part acrobat, part expert swordfighter and part wit: the epitome of charm and grace.
The Swashbuckler's description looks quite appropriate.
I'd go with STR 12-14 DEX 16-18 CON 13-15 INT 13-14 WIS 12-14 CHA 18 depending on the roll.

@Kuemper: Peck sounds a bit like Puck and Templeton Peck is too long, I don't know why I feel Templeton is too mundane for Faerun... Finding a good name is always the most difficult thing!

What's your race? Elfish blood would work with Starbuck - Dirk Benedict's character from Battlestar Galactica.

I was watching the episode "There is always a catch" and I almost choke when I heard this line by HM Murdock:

I'm allergic to microwaves. They release space hamsters into my bloodstream.
That is just too much!

I've often considered doing an A-team party in IWD, though most NPCs in this game are crazy enough to qualify too.

Minsc is perfect as BA, he does force the NPC to help the little kiddy from Umar Hills. Keldorn... I'm not so happy about, Hannibal is a master of deception, using different appearances every episode. I see him more as a fighter/thief, or maybe fighter/mage using only illusions. There aren't any other suitable npc's though...

In the last season the A-team had an extra member. Some indian fellow, can't recall his name. This was around the time the A-team "died" and worked for some rich guy (Stonewell or something?). The indian was a special effects specialist, maybe Haer'Dalis?

Wow, this was an old thread. Do you think the designers of BG were A-Team fans?

The problem with an A-Team party is the -10 to hit....

Nah, that's compensated for by the +20 to stray shots igniting flammable barrels of oil and flipping cars...

Not so much for unarmed attacks but for ranged ones. Bullets rarely hit anyone in the show.
