What is the Hardest Thing You Have Encountered?

i hate those damn brain things.... the one that can level drain the hell outta you then one hit and your gone, Especailly bad in numbers

MasterBlaster, those are Mind Flayers, or Illithids. (I believe that when you encounter one, the game describes it as an Illithid.)

Me, I'd say the hardest thing fighting is a Minsc gone berserk.

I would have to say, the Dragons when they are improved with the Solaufein Module.

The Shadow Dragon isn't much more of a challenge, but ...

The Firkraag battle is always long, and I'm constantly worried that one character or another is going to bite the dust.

The Black Dragon, even with a 20+ level party, has me saying 'whew! that was close!'

Weimer has done wonderful things for BG2.

Tanova in Chapter 3 in the city. She is pretty nasty just about every time I meet her. My first time through the game, that mage in Bodhi's dungeon was hardcore as well.

Mind Flayers are the hardest creature I came up against. I could counter most things that Lichs and other high level enemies throw my way.
But Mind Flayers just suck your brains till you've got none left - how do you counter that?

Sylvan - Chaotic Commands protects you against the Mind Flayers Intelligence Drain. If you cast that and free action you can negate their stun and intel drain making them far easier to deal with.

Not quite. Chaotic Commands protects against their psionic attacks that stun you (Psionic Blast), but the only protection for the intelligence drain is a low AC and killing them quickly if they hit you.

I agree, that the hardest thing to do was the Kangaxx demi-lich. Even with korgan gone beserk so the imprisonment doesnt work, i got nailed. I heard tell that he only gets 6, but he cast 15 at me. that was before going through the underdark though. Also, some of the dragons are REALLY hard to kill at low levels. Try killing the shadow dragon without force talk at level 14.

Kangaax didnt prove hard enough to me...Luckily i carried that scrool of protection from magic with me (it DID prove useful

) an i just used it and bam..Kangaax bites the dust. I wonder though what will happen next time (about 3 days) when he is Improved.

The hardest thing i remember is Twisted Rune. First time i encountered it i didnt have a clue what was in there, and then i desparatly tried to survive tha battle.

Didnt want to load the auto-save. And now i'm going it again...but this time improved

I only just rememered this because it was in watchers keep and i only did id the once, and it is alos accessable from ToB, but the final battle. That was a B!TCH!!!!!! That was THE hardest battle that i found, it is harder to do than irenicus.
