For my second time through BG2, I'd like to spice things things up a bit.. so I'll go through as an 'all-shorty' party with Multiplayer characters as well. Four MP characters, Jan, and Mazzy.
I've created two MP characters to start off the game with, two brothers - a halfling swashbuckler and fighter. When they reach Athkatla for the first time, they will be contacted by a strange Halfling/Gnome (haven't decided yet) Cleric who wants to help them track down Jon Irenicus. This character will be another MP-generated character. Question: How do I spawn this new Cleric in using the console, and give her enough XP that she's caught up w/ the rest of the party? When the party reaches Spellhold, they will meet another stranger, this time, a Gnomish Illusionist (can Gnomes be Wild Mages?) who again wishes to help the party. Question: How do I spawn this Gnome in using the console, and give him enough XP that she's caught up w/ the rest of the party? Thanks in advance. |

If you are still in multiplayer mode, then you can just create him when you want to, you know, IWD-style, by using the character arbitration [C]. and to give him the XP just activate the console by pressing Ctrl+Space and typing CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP("<the-amount-of-xp-you-want>") while you have the new character selected.
Voila! There you go. |

More Q's.
a) If I'm not in multiplayer mode, how could I achieve this effect? b) Does that SetCurrentXP command give the character 'x' amount of XP, or set the character's XP to 'x'. Thx. |

a) You can always copy your savegame to the multiplayer dir, cheat it and copy it back.
b) in BGI I believe it was set, but I never cheated in BGII so dunno |

A. If you didn't move your save to the singleplayer save-folder, you are still in MP-mode and can do it by pressing [C] and then just putting in the last character. If you have moved it, you know ow to move it back again. Just do that.
B. It sets the characters XP to what you typed in. |

Firestorm, sorry to bother...but does that save game thing work? I mean which way does it go? Can you "par example" create a couple of characters in multiplayer mode, then once out of the first cages turn it into "single player" mode with the same characters?

To answer your question, kingsgambit, yes, you can do that. Just move the saves from the multiplayer folder to the single player folder. Any time you want.
