Looking at the system requirements, they seem ridiculously high. It seems like only yesterday those units for RAM and storage would be in megabytes instead of gigabytes, and that the above requirements for either game would be considered high even if they were MB instead of GB when I was a kid or even most of the time I was a teenager.

Personally, I don't really have the time to play anything immediately anymore, so temporary licenses are useless to me.

 

I know, and I know that even if it was back when I did have that kind of time, my mother would have found something to do for me "instead of playing those useless games." Yes, I mean that the only time I had that kind of time to complete a game in one sitting was back when I was a kid in school. Even then, I couldn't beat most of the CRPGs in one sitting like Might & Magic I or II, Final Fantasy I-VII, any of the Infinity Engine games (BG, IWD, & PST), or the Aurora Engine games (NWN & KoTOR), Gold Box games, Ultima games, or come to think of it any commercial RPG games I can think of off-hand. Heck, the only games that were not designed to be short I can think of beating the first time in one sitting was "Super Battle Tank" on the Game Boy. Beat it the first time, although it was designed without a save so it was relatively short, but I found it too easy. Wound up trading it to somebody who liked it but found it more challenging. I miss being able to trade games like that.

Unless it is a short game, like "Grimm's Hollow", which is short but bittersweet. I beat it in less than four hours.

Still a very good RPGMaker RPG, if one of the shortest I've played. I consider it the RPG equivalent to a short story.

It says it is early access, and all the addons are to purchase some kind of in-game currency, so it appears this is really just an open beta for a micro-transaction PTW game. It looks like the game will always be FTP with microtransactions based on the "addons" page.

Semi-OT: My mother has just had a stroke, I might not be able to post the daily updates on Epic's Christmas Countdown. Hope everyone's having a better Christmas than me, ties for 1999 for worst Christmas. Back in '99 I lost my grandfather in April and my grandma had a mentally debilitating stroke less than 6 months later that.
Now mom just had a mentally debilitating stroke and I'm now practically an orphan, albeit a middle-aged man.
Sorry, currently depressed and can't get into the Christmas spirit. It was just going to be me and my mom this Christmas, now it's just me. We told everyone we'd be ok, and we would have been, but that turned out to be a lie because of the stroke.

Sorry, half-assing things, they just told me at the hospital my mom may not be recovering from her stroke, and then I fell into depression when I was driving home and heard the song "Christmas Shoes" on the radio. Worst Christmas ever since I had previously told my other family that we'd be fine alone and they could travel to meet people on the other side of their families, so I wound up spending Christmas alone.
