Will Obsidian fix the SR bug with equipped items in the next patch? I can't ever guarantee anything will be fixed, but we are aware of it. Sorry I can't be more explicit, but I hate saying things that wind up being untrue later on. Hope you understand.

Error message when loading a campaign. Hey guys,
Here's what our programmer said:
"Would it be possible for one of the people reporting in that thread to provide us with a module or save game where they are experiencing the problem?
That error really should only come up if the game is unable to load the module.ifo file contained within a module… which would suggest that either the file is missing or corrupt. But why that would be coming up all the sudden, I'm not sure.
Looking into a module or save game that someone is actively experiencing the bug with would be the best information for me to have."
If anyone has a save that is experiencing these problems, please email it to me at mrorie@obsidian.net. Just keep in mind that your mail will probably bounce if the save is over 10 megs in size, so something small would be preferable. Otherwise, we can try to work out something via rapidshare or something similar.
(Play+Crash)+(Open Door+Crash)+(Sneeze+Crash) = @*!&!@!
Sorry for the trouble, Cyberpawz. Indeed, the Mac version of the patch is in Aspyr's hands - hopefully they will get things ironed out soon. But it sucks that you're having trouble, and I apologize about that.
New to NWN2
Hey, welcome to NWN2. Hope you have a good time with the game!
As far as experiencing everything there is to see, are you familiar with other D&D games? If so, you probably have a good idea of what classes/races appeal to you. If not, let us know and we'll make some recommendations.
When NWN2 Platinum out?
They actually did put out a NWN2 Ultimate edition or something similar at the end of last year, which included both expansions, but it only came out in Germany.
As far as a US release of something like NWN2 Diamond, that would be up to Atari to decide...

Website and forums down for approx 5 hours tonight We are doing some fixing on the BioWare web servers tonight, which will make the current BioWare websites and forums unavailable starting at 7pm MST.
The team will try to get things back online ASAP, but it could be anywhere from 1-5 hours depending on how quickly they can hook the hamster back up to his wheel.

In search of default listbox row names, help request. I found a programmer who would know the answer to this, but he's a little slammed at the moment. If I can free some of his time this week I'll try to press him on it. Feel free to ping me via message if I lose track of it...
NWN 2 Gold W/MoB
I'll try these steps out in the Windows 7 64-bit version when I have a chance and see what happens.
In search of default listbox row names, help request.
This is the response I got (I apologize if some of this wraps weirdly):
"Keep in mind, we didn't always name listbox rows. The listbox row names were almost never actually used in-code but rather were specified mostly as debugging aids.
The listbox manipulating script functions came along well after NWN2 had shipped, and as a result, many of the old list boxes from the original game were not implemented in a way that followed a convention compatible with the list box script functions.
That said, these seem to be the names that I was able to determine.:
characterscreen.xml ListBoxName=SKILLPANE_LIST - Name of skill (from the strref in the skills 2da)
characterscreen.xml ListBoxName=FEAT_LIST - Name of feat (from the strref in the feats 2da)

Steam and NWN2 Sorry, we haven't heard anything about it. All we know is that it was at one point in Steam QA. I'm not sure what the hold-up is. I'll see if I can ping someone and see what's up.
Great Smitting
I believe your math is correct, but I have never gotten a character up above 25 charisma so I have never had the opportunity to check this out myself.
Anyone care to confirm?
NWN 2 Gold W/MoB
Is there an icon in All Programs->Games in the Start Menu? While NWN2 wasn't programmed with Windows 7 in mind, I believe some older games have their start menu shortcuts automatically placed in the correct folder anyway.
Alan Miranda, Ossian Studios CEO
More Avatars PLEASE!
I'm fairly sure they said some time back that there would not be any avatars for MoW, since it's only an Adventure Pack, instead of an Expansion. That is correct - there won't be any additional avatars for MoW.
MoW and NWN2 Help Needed.
Hi Redneck1st,
I'm sorry to break this to you, but Atari had to remove the inclusion of MoW on the NWN2 Gold version because they had not finished the authentication system (it would be another 9 months until MoW was released!). They appologized for this on the Atari forums, I believe. You will need to buy MoW separately, unfortunately. To find places to buy it from, you can visit Ossian's MoW page at http://www.ossianstudios.com/index.php/mow
More Avatars PLEASE!
Quote: I'll still be sad about it. You guys did too much work to make too many memorable characters. Can ya blame me? No, I can't blame you at all. There are some great characters in MoW, and I'll always remember good ol' Salty Jack. If you want the background scoop on that street-performing magician that you liked, you should check out the blog of the designer who wrote him (Tiberius), and his behind-the-scenes article.

Imprisoned on the docks
Hi rbpenn,
We definitely don’t want you to have wasted $10 and not be able to play MoW!
If you’re stuck on the docks (and not only waiting for the messenger to show up), then it sounds like the 2nd part of the cutscene didn't play. You’ll need to try artificially kick-starting it. Please try the following:
1) Open the console and type: rs mv_1500_vision2_start
2) Close the console after the cutscene
Our lead tech designer thinks that'll start the 2nd cutscene (with Tasheni), upgrade the mask, spawn the messenger, and remove the "blocking" crates that are trapping you there.
I hope that helps. If you have any more issues, please visit the Ossian support forums, as we check them more frequently.
Too Many Skill Points! Hi LanDrakosis,
We aren’t sure how this happened. The only thing our lead technical designer can think of is to try respawning Mantides back into the game. Please try the following:
1) Go to the Black Eye tavern
2) Leave the tavern to go outside and leave Mantides behind in the tavern
3) Open the console and type: rs hf_debug_spawn c_mantides
4) A copy of Mantides will spawn right beside your character
5) Close the console
The new Mantides should function correctly now. I hope that helps. If you have any more issues, please visit the Ossian support forums, as we check them more frequently.
MoW FAQ and Known Issues List
Hi Tig W,
Yes, this is due to the issue of “enforce legal characters,” probably related to how we made our blueprints for the companions, which turns out had some invalid packages and such (these have been reported by other fans). The only way to fix it is to hack the bic files. Our lead technical designer is pretty sure that other people on the forum reported doing this, so you can probably find what they did and do the same thing.
I hope that helps. If you have any more issues, please visit the Ossian support forums, as we check them more frequently.
MoW FAQ and Known Issues List Hi Frostfyre7,
It sounds like a resource or graphical driver issue. When you said you reinstalled everything, do you mean you installed NWN2, MotB, SoZ, and then the 1.23 patch? Doing that should fix any resource problems that cause texture weirdness. As for a driver issue, I can only recommend updating to the latest driver for your video card. Hopefully that helps, but if you continue to have an issue, please visit the Ossian support forums so I can help you there (I check it more often than here).

How many times? I think I have played the OC and MOTB three times apiece. Once for the walkthroughs I wrote for GameSpot, and then a couple times each after that with different characters.
I think I only played SOZ front to back once, but I played it piecemeal during development multiple times, so I'm not sure how to count that one.
How many times?
I only play story based games once. Then uninstall them and move on. That applies to NWN2. I only play each OC/expansion once. I do however play SP modules from the vault, once each of course, which is why NWN2 will not get uninstalled once I finish SoZ and MoW.
The way I see it, no story is ever good enough to be replayed over a story I have yet to play. And there are always more stories to be played, since the world produces them faster than I can consume them. That is not limited to NWN2 or even games in general, it applies to everything I am into (movies, TV, books, comic books, etc.) That's an interesting philosophy to take, especially in the case of movies and other short media. I can see not wanting to play through an 80-hour RPG twice, but there are plenty of movies and books out there that I have only really enjoyed after watching or reading them two or three times. Not that I'm disagreeing with you. Personally I have a hard time finding authors that I enjoy reading (I'm super picky), so I stick with my faves and re-read their books for the most part.
Summoner PCs now possible
That is definitely cool. What's interesting is that the mod was just uploaded, but the video on Youtube is a year old?
In search of default listbox row names, help request. I'll see if a programmer might know the answer to this...no guarantees I'll get any replies, though.

Lost the manual and CD Key I wish I could help, but unfortunately Atari is indeed the one to contact here. We don't have access to the CD-Key lists (or at least, I don't think we do...).

Patch 1.24 We can't speak on anything officially, unfortunately (that's our publisher's job). I think everyone agrees that there are still some bugs that deserve squashing, though.

Error message when loading a campaign. Here is what our QA guy had to say, but I'm not sure if it's relevant to the case at hand or not.
"The only time I have seen things like that is when you have stuff in your override folder that should not be there or you saved over a campaign file. Never seen it happen to the original campaign unless a user opened the campaign in the toolset and saved it out again. That does happen a lot though since the toolset has an autosave feature after five minutes, so if a user opens a campaign module and lets it run for five minutes it will autosave over it."
I'm not sure if any of you have been running the editor or not? In any case, we'll see what Grinning Fool's perusals come back with...
Info on Enemies
I don't think that's built into the engine by default. You can right-click on an enemy and Examine them to get a basic visual examination, but their more detailed stats will not be shown.
As Selene said, there may be a mod that shows this kind of information.
Wide-screen monitor
I got a Dell S2409 recently:
You can get it for less than 200 bucks if you wait for an online sale. Great monitor for the price. With the Radeon 5850 I got today, I'm thinking about picking up another monitor for Eyefinity gaming. Should be interesting to see how NWN2 would play at 3800x1080 or whatever that would be.
