Black Isle: No Baldur's Gate 3 or Icewind Dale 3

Rather distressing news on the Interplay forums - Black Isle have made it clear once and for all that they are not working on either a Baldur's Gate 3 or an Icewind Dale 3, nor will they in the forseeable future. The evidence can be found here.

| I am not very old but I have already acquired great knowledge of how to create games using the Infinity Engine. I have started to work on an unofficial BG3 that my friends and I have decided to call Dark Conspiracies. We aren't professionnals at all but we figured that all that matters is having fun. I'm sure that many other guys or even experienced programmers and artists could also be working on another BG3 but then again, who cares?
The game creation is however very long since we do take every single detail seriously so we'll have to wait 6 more months to be anle to test it. As for fanatic gamers such as myself (even if the game is getting old) I recommend that you change a little the games you play and try to experience other games such as the great Neverwinter Nights or others like Elemental Temple, Dungeon Siege... Well I guess that's all. See ya |
