    What are the differences? I installed both games, and now I'm undecided which to play :D What are your pro's and con's? Are TuTu bugs a real problem? What say you?

    With Tutu (or BGT) you get access to the largest content mod for BG--the BG1 NPC Project.

    I'd say the 3 new classes + kits for all classes, it gives a lot of variety. The BG1 NPC project is also great, if you like banters.

    I can't name (m)any cons, maybe the vanilla BG has its own, unique feel to it.

    You can have some unique mods for vanilla BG1 too. Fields of the Dead looks promising. I have finished TuTu games (with mods) twice so far, so I will start a new game in vanilla BG1 with mods after finishing my current one. (I am currently in ToB)

    @Mata5

    Choosing between the original Baldur's Gate and BGTutu is mostly a matter of taste. Generally, Tutu offers more features since it borrows them from the refined BG2 engine -- access to kits, improved interface, better resolution options, enhanced graphics.

    From what you've said, though, it seems to me as if you haven't played the first Baldur's Gate before the sequel. If that's the case, you might feel alienated by the stony interface if you decided to try the original as opposed to Tutu.

    If you're used to the old interface, on the other hand, or prefer some of the BG1-only mods, you might want to stay clear of Tutu.

    As for the "TuTu bugs" you mention, the only major one that I can think of is the dreaded Beregost crash, which occurs rather sporadically but is very easily circumvented by careful saving. Basically, you may experience a crash to desktop when trying to leave the Beregost area -- having a separate save from before you enter the city will allow you to restore your game should the issue arise. It's nothing big, however: it won't derail your gaming experience.

    In any case, happy hunting!

    My overall recommendation is to go for Tutu, though. You'll find there are a lot of Tutu-compatible (or even Tutu-only!) mods out there for your needs, and having access to kits can be very helpful during your treks on the Sword Coast.

    There's also a tool to fix saves that are affected, as the Beregost bug affects both Tutu and BGT. No one knows why saves get corrupted in Beregost, but fixing them is pretty easy.

    What exactly is the Beregost bug? Does it involve the game crashing (which happened too much to me when I was leaving Beregost)?

    BTW, after trying Tutu, I could never go back to vanilla BG1, if only for the walking speed factor alone!

    There's something in Beregost that corrupts save games--basically some random townsperson ends up with a fubar'd resource that sometimes causes crashes when you try to load a game after visiting Beregost. Despite many eyes looking for the issue, no one has found the cause. There is, however, a download that can fix save games with this issue. It's a very simple problem, but very aggravating that no one has been able to trace the cause.

    And for english language distributions, EasyTutu is a great platform to use. It is simple, clean, creates its own install, is well supported, and most of all there is a beta of the next version of EasyTutu available from Macready that I am starting to play now. I highly, highly recommend it as a great way to install Tutu.

    Besides the BG1 NPC Project (which adds content for existing BG 1 NPCs), there also new NPC mods available. There's Gavin, a romanceable male cleric (available at Gibberlings 3), Indira, a fighter/mage (Pocket Plane Group), and Finch, an awesome gnome cleric (also PPG).
