Please no bootleg copies etc. Can't be bothered to compare or to debate.

Reason I mention is the huge price difference I've seen advertised for US and UK games.

    Neverwinter Nights - Advertised US - $55, Gamer UK - £25 ($36)
    Morrowind - Advertised US - $50, Gamer UK - £28 ($40).

Seems to me that PC games are now a lot cheaper in the UK than US prices which I found a bit surprising, since I've always been under the impression that software was cheaper "over there".

Well, I think the thing is that Gamer UK has very low prices. I live in the UK, and I always buy games in the store as opposed to online, and there they are generally £30 or £35 new. (Which is still slightly cheaper than US, but not as great a difference).

    [Edit]

Just checked on Amazon.co.uk, and they have NWN for £30, so I think that Gamer Uk must have cut a special deal with BioWare or something. :)

Around (Philippine Peso) P1,600.00 on the average, divided by around $51.00 per peso, that's... umm... $30 to $32, depending on the exchange rate. :money:

BTW, those are original copies.

I hope so. anyone paying $30 for a bootleg is an idiot.

I refuse to buy games for more than $40, so on average that's what I pay. Since I haven't had a computer faster than 16mhz for more than 5 months, I still pick up 2000-2001 era games for $10 or so.

Here in croatia games cost around 50$ (new, foreign pack (box is also imported)), and 30$ for new games with croatian packing. (but only few are packed here). Croatian games like Serious Sam costs less than 20$ (but in some stores is more expensive)

[IMG] Over here (England) games cost around £30 new and drop quite soon after that, when they go budget there only £10 or £5.
However i got all my infinity engine games for £20 brand new. In fact all my favourite games have cost less than £30, most of them about £20 ish.

[IMG] I usually won't pay more than $20 for a game, but I buy them later, after they've been out for a while but before they're in the bargain bins. I also watch out for deals. Sometimes a particular game will be on sale for just a few days at CompUSA or somewhere (I'm in the US)for like $5 even when its relatively new, and I grab them if I can. I do pay full price for the games these boards are about, I can't wait for a price drop. That's usually $45-$55!

I live in West Virginia in the eastern US. My new copy of HoMM IV was $50 US. Most games here will run about $40 to $50 when they first come out. Course, you go to Walmart and get them for about $5 less.

I come up with the same figures as TheBlackRose and the other people from the eastern U.S. I go to Costco, because when they actually have good games, they're $5 to $15 cheaper. If not Costco, then Walmart rules!

Here in Greece new games cost about 35-45 euro, but the only games I buy original are some very special ones (NWN,BG etc.) I usually rent the game for a day (about 1.5 euro) and I burn it on my PC.

Heh, we can't rent PC games here, as far as I know. At least not where I live.
