    true that, but something the player wont know/discover in-game, cuz as you transit from one area to another, Easthaven is the most westerly locale depicted in the in-game world view map - that always cracks me up :)

    No, I really don't think this was a joke at all. Faerun, including the 10 Towns was imagined and published long before the game Icewind Dale was created. Easthaven is where it is and is called what it's called. I'm sure this could look quirky if you're not familiar with Faerun's geography, but to the people of the 10 Towns, Easthaven is their easternmost town, and that's why they call it Easthaven. Simple as that.
