What does this DC-14 mean? I am new in the 3rd Edition and I have no idea what could it be...

These things make my head spin, but I think that DC stands for "Difficulty Class", and is the base value that must be exceeded in a saving throw.

Sleep DC-14, means that Sleep, a Will save, must have a saving throw (unmodified) of 14 or better. The percentage after it shows the number of objects in the target area who will be affected by the spell. The higher the DC, the harder to resist an effect.

Can someone else please add to this, because I would sure like to know for sure if I'm right.

You're close, Hacken Slash. The DC is the Difficulty Class, but the 14 is the number that must be beat on the saving throw with all modifications added in. Remember that a natural 1 always fails, so there's always a 5% chance of outright failure.

The 50% means that the Sleep effect, in this case, is applied 50% of the time.

Generally I have seen this effect as a To Hit property of a weapon. If you hit somebody with a weapon with this property, you have half a chance to make them attempt to save vs Sleep and they must then beat a 14 with their roll+mods.

Also, keep in mind that having any items(/spells/potions) which provide immunity to mind-affecting spells ("Immunity: Mind-Affecting") will effectively negate the effect, as will being an Elf or Half-elf.

And these immunities are counted even when fighting enemies, i.e. Half-elf mercenaries. When fighting someone, right-click him to get a list of possible immunities and other spell effects. You can then decide which of your weapons/spells to use against him. i.e. all Undead should be immunity to mind-affecting so don't bother trying to Sleep them...
