Never fear; I don't talk about that ****. I play 2e all the way, and that's all I know. My 3e & 3.5e knowledge is non-existant by choice. :heh:

The only real limits for dualling in 2e were very high stats and proper alignment. You also couldn't dual to a class in the same group (warrior, wizard, priest, rogue), but that was it. Beyond that it was up to the DM's RPing discretion. Not being able to dual your Paladin to certain classes does make sense, but not being able to dual at all ignores human nature. People can get tired of the discipline and choose another path; sure they should (and will) loose their abilities if they choose an alternate path, but choosing a parallel path is allowable if somewhat hard to maintain. It'd be hard as hell to follow both paths at the same time, and one is bound to give eventually if he can't reconcile the two. But he's at least got the option to try.

Beating up a thug that is in the act of something Criminal is entirely suitable and been done more times than I can count in table top games. Reasons can always be found and justified. Healing them is the good merciful thing you do after teaching them a lesson.

And I didn't say beating them up a second time was a smart thing to do but that it could be done if you want to accept the possible consequences. having your god with you is the smart thing because then you could probably atone instead of losing your paladin hood for doing it.

Come one now boys! Beating someone up and then healing them could be classified as some sort of punishment ... but beating them up again is just plain cruel - does anyone remember the drow in Ust Natha picking on that Djinni? This type of character would be more suited for an evil Fighter/Cleric if that would be the case, but that's not what we're talking about is it. If a Paladin did do that, i doubt they would be classes as "Fallen", but the people wouldnt' look too kindly at them, not would they!

Now, back on topic - Does anyone feel like starting a poll (Ja that includes you :D !) to see if we can find someone to basically re-write the entire BGII codes as to enable such classes as an Assassin/Conjurer, Swashbuckler/Cleric (of whatever God) or even a Paladin/Specialist Mage?

Basically something that will enable people to dual or multi-class from ONE KIT TO ANOTHER and then maybe to another if they wish. I know that sounds impossible, but hey, this is SP -- and someone's gotta know how to do it ...

No. It just occured to me that you might get a better response or more concise answers directly from the horse's mouth if you go to where the watering hole is. It's an idea, but don't feel chased away. I like the plan of a mod where you can be a vanilla class dualed to a kit. As for the K/S/A :shake:

Yeh i know jA, i read some of your posts. But remember, we don't want people to 'modify' a F/M/T and change their names and statistics ... we want OUR character!

We want a FULL BLOODED Kensai/Sorcerer/Assassin that is, well, exactly that.

All right, for anyone out there who is listening, or reading or whatever! jA and I need some help! I know someone out there knows how it can be done, and I'm sure they've done it before too.

I require someone to basically rewrite the entirety of BGII, so that one thing can be accomplished: So that someone is able to have whatever race, class, alignment and kit they desire. That includes something like a human, triple mulitclass kit (yes you heard me!). Something like, oh I don't know, a Kensai/Sorcerer/Assassin! Which includes taking off the XP cap within the modification that is made.

We DON'T want someone to just modify a F/M/T and 'call' it our superb character, we need this done properly! :D

I know someone can do this ... please help!!!

Look, wanting your triple-class is one thing, but outright breaking the rules to do it isn't necessary. A half-elf K/S/A would work just fine (and even be within the rules if they do it how I think they will). The only differences would be a minimum CON of 6 (which should NOT be a problem  ), and gaining infravision. Romances would be unaffected, etc.

Unless some poor, unimaginative coder needs general instructions and a beginning prod, I don't think so. :heh: This is not something so simple as a kit; you would need to create an entire new class and somehow add it to the pickable choices for half-elves. In truth, you wouldn't even need a kit unless you also wanted a generic F/S/T or maybe one with a single kit on top of it; if all you want is the K/S/A, then you wouldn't need to mess with that.

I can think of a couple 2da files that would need to be changed, but I don't know the specifics of modding and don't intend to learn unless something deserving of my attention comes up. And making something even more powerful than the uber-BORINGly powerful F/M/T doesn't even come close.

And the only place I can direct you is right back to http://forums.rpgdungeon.net/ because I know for a fact that they don't require you to register before posting a new topic. In fact, some of them are working on one of my ideas at the moment.
