Outsourcing
games specialist Babel has produced a TV commercial for chart-topping
PC title Neverwinter Nights. The 30-second commercial will be broadcast
in Australia, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. It uses
animations created by Babel, in-game graphics and Full Motion Video
(FMV) from the title. Babel wrote the script, sourced and recorded
voiceovers in both English and German, added special effects and
edited the final product.

Asgard

awesome movie created by the Korean guild Asgard. They were allowed
to go to the Infogrames offices for seven days where they captured
the footage and created this movie. This trailer runs over four
minutes and shows some never before seen footage from NWN in a level
of quality and glory that must be seen to be appreciated. A must
download for any NWN fan. Dragons, spells and so on are all here.

storyline (note that it contains mild spoilers). Unfortunately the
picture quality is mediocre at best, so the awesome graphics cannot
be truly appreciated.

Watamaniuk posted the following caveat regarding the trailer (26/04/2002):
... One thing we'd like to point out, the narration track is somewhat
inaccurate. Placeholder (temp) audio was included in this early
sales promo video, not the final audio. The graphics, animation
and spell effects represent the state of the game as of a month
or so ago. They've also since been improved some... just wait until
you see what we do at E3!

The interview is worth checking out by everyone, whereas the movies
are unwatchable unless you have at least cable.

battle between a human (?) warrior and a minotaur. The forging of

presentation of the game, done by Trent Oster. We get to see the
deep woods tileset, hear a bit of dialogue and enter your typical
dungeon. Inside the dungeon Trent fights a bugbear and finds a cool
magical sword with a blue frost effect (Frostbrand). The other character,
a sorceress, shows off a couple of spells.

E3 demo BioWare had at their booth. Shot with a handheld camera
by NW Vault,
the picture and sound quality is rather bad, however... The movie
is almost half an hour long and we get to see the BioWare folks
demonstrate everything from the Aurora Toolset to character creation,
gameplay and a terrific battle with a Balor!

similar to the demo above, only minus the Aurora Toolset. The visual
quality of the movie here is much better, but the sound is on two
channels, left is Czech and right is English. Set it all the way
to right to hear (mostly) just English.

Another
one of GameSpot's "you see it our way or you don't see it at
all" movies. The quality of both sound and picture is appalling
if you try the 56kb
stream, so rather use the hi-quality link above. If your modem
is too slow you won't get any picture, but at least the sound quality
will be good. And since it is primarily Trent talking, you won't
miss that much.
